The issue here is that the original poster was sold a dog and cannot get the AKC papers! He is local - he has called me and discussed the whole paperwork history. The "breeder" told him he could get UKC instead, as the stud certificate for the litter registration is ????? So, he has an 8 month old DDR/Czech male pup and a 20 month female of AKC/CKC show lines and wanted to know about the UKC as he needs to know how he can register their puppies down the road .....showing in conformation and getting yet more letters after/before the name is nice, but this is a quesiton about the breeding value of the papers.

UKC isn't really "hunting" oriented. If you want hunting-dog oriented, check out the National Kennel Club! They seem still stuck in the 1880s, where only sport dogs are useful. Hah! As for wild combos - the Continental Kennel Club recognizes almost all breeds in the world and registers half-breeds. I find nothing wrong with that; all breeds were "created", often deliberately from other breeds, never mind mixes (German Shepherd, anyone?). My problem is maybe they should come up with better breed names rather than "Labradoodle" and "Peekapoo", which make it obvious they are essentially half-breeds. Frankly, any org that does away with the confounding rigidity/leniency of the AKC is OK with me!

go check out their website....curs and fiests and ooonhounds and beagles.....the whole discussion board is laid out for hunting breeds. yes, they have other programs, but they are a very very old organization that was primarily for hunting dogs and they have added the other breeds and programs...many foreign breeds harve started off being in the UKC before being recognized by the AKC
