I do not envy you Guys having that problem, Going off Dogs i get ordinary Spiders in the Pigeon loft they do no harm probably good in my way of thinking These Spiders do not like damp areas so it shows the loft is fine in that respect
Plus i never destroy the Spiders or the webs in the roof area for when i see the Webs moving about i know the ventilation is fine in the lofts so i do not mind having these little buggers about, What we get over here in season is flying Ants they are a pest
But Black Widows you can keep them over there

We have Black Widows here, as well as most of the other types.  I hadn't seen any myself that I am aware of, but I'm told there was a bunch of them behind our washer and dryer when they were pulled out for repair.

Also - funny story - I hate spiders - I have a great fear of them - BUT I thought I'd train myself to get over the fear.  I often find a spider in my bathtub (we live pretty deep in the woods).  Instead of flushing them down the drain, I began to lift them out on a brush and fling them out the bathroom window.  One day, I notice a spider was missing one of it's front legs.  I put it outside.  Two days later, a spider was in the tub - it was missing it's front leg.  I took a really close look.  I figured the bugger got back in somehow, but never thought how, since it is winter, and unlikely that anyone opened the window.  Three days later, the spider was there again.  I'm TOLD the only way the spider could have got back into the tub was coming down the stack from the roof.  I was impressed with the spider's tenacity - and was going to "save" it again by putting it outside.  When I showed my significant other the spider - he killed it - and showed me it was a black widow.... duuuhhhh!!!!!

I'm getting some of that stuff, Michele. I just discovered a trail of ants in the shower. It finally got cold and all the little monsters moved in!!!

I live in South Carolina and we have TONS of hairy eight legged beasties!   Ever seen a "silk spider," also known as a "banana spider?"  YIKES! I spray with wasp spray.  It foams up on them and they croak pretty quick.   Windex is a good one too.  Good luck with your spider problem.
