Thanks DH..would you know why the dog that got that rating didn't show up on the final list and it didn't say they pulled him either..could be a mistake.

I agree with a lot of what you said, D.H. You said: " But more so, a G or SG rating is well accepted as being enough among working line folks. Though for the most part the G/SG is more due to blanant lack of ring training, and lack proper presentation, rather than actual conformation and show potential of the dog." And that sort of makes my point. What if the conformation judge gave those dogs V's because they made it around the ring, stood still when stacked, and stayed with their handlers during off-lead? Because they fulfilled the requirements, does not mean they deserve a V rating. In the protection portion at the Seigers, just because a dog stays with it's handler during heeling, bites the sleeve during the attack (barely hanging on)and lopes in for a bite during the courage test does not mean it deserves a pronounced rating, in my opinion. And this is coming from someone that owns a showline bitch. So, I'm not saying this to bash showlines in any way. It's just that when I spectated at the 2005 USA Seiger, I was amazed (and very disappointed) at the performances that were rated Pronounced.

Both Sport and Show must be given credit where credit is due. The following is only the top dogs that make it to Regionals or National. A Sport dog that competes Regional, National or World for that matter is subject to the stress of traveling, staying in a crate most of the time for a week, walking up to a mile to reach the start pad for tracking, going into a stadium with all the unfamiliar sounds and smells and doing Obedience then having to came back to the Stadium again and doing Protection. Now you have the show dog that competes at Regional or Sieger that is subject to the stress of traveling, staying in a crate most of the time for a week, going into a stadium with all the unfamiliar sounds and smells and other dogs barking while waiting there turn, then having to do Obedience to the Attack out of blind, then the long bite WITH an out. Then having to return to the Stadium again and run around the ring with the dog having to maintain his ring training, etc. with all the distractions. As you can see there is not much difference in the two after all. Well at least in this case. And yes both Show AND Sport have their share of Running to the car even at club level. Uwe
