In the United States under SV judges, How long are longcoat puppies allowed to get VP ratings for? Are they only allowed to go VP? or can they go SG until they get to working class? Thank you KROUT

Where are they doing this at? I do think longcoats should be allowed to be judged by a SV judge.

Dawnmarie, I DO think longcoats should be allowed... why? Because judges are awarding Top dogs that produces longcoats... dont you think thats hypocrical to do? Allowing dogs to compete when they know that they produce FAULTS. SGBH, I didnt know you were a conformation judge?!?!? How long have you been a judge for? As of matter of fact a SV judge that does schutzhund actually looked at zambi personally and told me that she wasn't a coat... now should I believe you who only look at pictures or should i believe in an SV judge who has more experience in the breed than you? I'm not trying to put you down... im sure that you know enough but you should not tell people that they have longcoat unless if have personally viewed the dog yourself. go to http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/442063.html and see my dogs picture and then go to http://www.haus-barrett.de/ and then tell me if Zambi looks like one of theses dogs thats a LONGCOAT?!? The only fault that Zambi has is her ears... she has soft ears... I'm honest enough to admit to this because I'm just an honest person... I don't hide stuffs either , unlike some people here who photoshop their dogs picture to make it more red ;)

Wow things do not change here... it is clear that the coat type of the GSD is a continuum. It is not simple recessive genetics and there are no indications of any traits tied to the coat that should preclude it. Short sighted people have removed the longcoat and its genetic diversity from the gene pool, too bad for you. Oh ya every decent litter has longcoats in it, explain that or are the prodigy from Bax, Orbit, Quantum and Batu really that bad. Name a Seiger line that does not make longcoat puppies!!

all very simple, does it or does it not conform to the SV standard? Nice to see you Max,been a while.

Great Word..Continuum...great philosophy

Hey Charlie, ltns!! i for one didnt think a puppy could get a VP rating for being a long coat, because they cant get breed surveyed, right? i personally would NEVER show a long coat if i owned one, why bother you cant breed it if you are following the SV guidelines, right? dawnmarie

by Charles Ivory on 02 October 2005 - 22:10

Geez Dawn...lol.....Does anyone really follow the SV standard? To look at most of the dogs today I would have to say not.But what do I know? How ya been doing?
