My suggestion would be this: If you want to breed to a stud in Germany, take a look at last year's Sieger Show URMA book and find some males that you like--structurally, and in pigment. Do a little research and find out if they're proven producers or not. Only YOU know what would compliment your bitch's attributes best! If you're looking for a male in the United States, in your situation, I personally would ask around a LOT and find a few proven producers (you don't want to a beautiful stud, only to find out he doesn't throw what he is!) that have all of the qualities you seek. There are some beautiful, sound, good-drive dogs out there if you look enough. Find what YOU like and stick with improving the breed as you've shown you care enough to improve on your bitch's pigmentation, rather than just breeding to "any old dog" for lack of a better term. Kudos and good luck!

My suggestion is to see the dog in person. And then combine the quality of the dog you see with the recommendations of the Kore. And then look to the strengths of the breeding including the combination of the male / female and what you are looking to accomlish with this breeding. DO YOUR HOMEWORK.

A stud I have seen recently in ringwork and bitework that has good pigment and I believe produces good pigment is Enko vom Moorbeck. He should bring some other nice qualities also. http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/376845.html He is deeper in color than the picture on this site. I like the Pics of Karo but have not seen him in person yet.

I bred my girl to Enko v Moorbeck and the puppies have great pigment as far as I can tell. My female is an Ursus granddaughter so it seems to be a good combination. If you want working ability and deep red, then Enko is a great match.

Debbie, I would advice you to try to look at some of the offspring from Ando vom Altenberger Land. He gives very dark and good pigmentation, but remember that he is linebred on Jeck Noricum
