Just curious, how do you know its a scam and not someone wanting to buy a puppy?

I had a couple of similar emails. They always offer to pay you through someone else and they will send you a fake cashiers check that is for more money than you are asking. I was always asked for the "last price on the dog" too.

GSDFan, This scam has been going though the horseworld for several years. Basically you say the dog is $1500, so they say they are sending you a cashiers check for say $3500....they are good enough to let you 'keep a little extra for your troubles' and then ask that you return the excess to them via a wire. So you wire them say $1500-2000 and then the cashiers check is not legit. They are very high pressure and insistant on getting the wired money quickly and I guess people didn't realize in the mean time the cashiers check would bounce. I'd have to look for it, but a lady selling a horse knew about the scam and led the guy on for some time then documented their communications on her website. She ended up getting his fake cashiers check and turning everything over to the authorities, so at least it cost the guy some money to send her items, I believe via overnight mail and then he got nothing in return.

GSDfan, their goal is to wind up with your dogs, your money, with your underwear down by your ankles.

There was a lady here in Arkansas last month or so, that bred some small breed dogs that was taken by someone in Enland. Our Channel 7, "Seven on your side", highlighted this story, and the woman was devestated that she had sent 3 or 4 thousand dollars to someone overseas and the cashier's check she had received bounced, leaving her in debt to the bank. She did not have the money to pay the bank and was bawling like a baby. All the bank said was "we are sorry", but still insisted the lady pay up.

Has anyone recieved any RELAY calls? I have recieved several lately, and it seems like a scam as well. I know it is possible for these calls to be legitimate, but this particular guy said he was from Nigeria. Just curious if anyone else was experiencing this.

Right on Saoa, guess there is a fool born every minute and there is always a crook on the lookout for the fool.

I have heard this so many times and had lots of emails, I just press the delete button. Hopefully no more people will get "done" by this scam!
