Bill Kulla is located in Marengo, Illinois. He is an excellent trainer and helper for people that are interested in seriously working their working dogs toward their SchH titles and high level competition. You can learn more about him by visiting his website at: www.kulladogs.com . Bill imported my dog Cliff and I train with him twice a week. I couldn't be more pleased with all the wonderful help and excellent advice he has given to me in this sport over the past 2 years. The Helper work he has done with my dog is awesome. Cliff will be going for his SchH1 this June.

Fillic: I am quiet familiar with My BodyGuard (www.mybodyguarddogs.com). I train with them on Wednesdays. I have known them for years and have 2 dogs from them, you can see one of them on this site, Kodiac of My BodyGuard, he will be going for his SchH1 on June 24th at their trial. They are great people who have devoted their lives to the dogs. You could never dream of meeting a nicer person than Julie Saso. The helper they work with is Carlos Huerta of Huerta Hof German Shepherds (www.huertahof.com)and he is excellent. He is infinately knowledgable about the sport and the breed. One of the nicest things about working with Carlos is that he takes the time to explain everything and make sure you understand what you are doing, he won't rush you or do anything you are uncomfortable with (which is invaluable when you are new to the sport). Another great thing about training there is the camaraderie between everyone, there are dogs at all different levels as well as handlers with different levels of experience but everyone gets along and wants to see each others dogs do well, there is no animosity between people. Everyone is supportive. They train Wednesdays at 3pm and Saturdays at 3pm also. Hope to see you at training.

Carlos Huerta i SECOND THAT!!! He is a very very patient man, very knowledgable about dogs, he is in tune with each individual dog he is working. I can go on for days how important Carlos is to the sport and the dog world, but dont listen here, get going and contact him. Best Regards, Dawnmarie

ViperK9, Dawnmarie, Thanks for the info but I have already begun private lessons with Julie for the past few weeks. She makes me feel comfortable eventhough Henk (my GSD) is further ahead than I am in training and I have a lot of catching up to do. I'm going to give sometime maybe a month of private training with Julie before I feel comfortable in joining in on Saturday afternoon sessions. Phil

Northern Illinois covers some land and miles. If you are in the NW part of the state there is a USA Schutzhund club that is in the Quad Cities area. You can also find all the clubs by going to the USA or WDA sites. http://www.germanshepherddog.com and http://www.gsdca-wda.org Hope this helps. Good luck in your search, check around and visit a few places before committing to any one place. Many different training styles out there to consider. Marsha
