Well, after much contemplation, my son got his new puppy. I am SO happy I did.

Skyler brought him to the group class that I teach Wed. mornings. All the dogs

in the class have OB and are working on distractions, mainly working around

other dogs. Skyler and Nero headed the pack. He makes me so proud. By the end

My son had taught him to sit and walk nice on the lead, focus. Now hes got a

pup that he can handle. They are absolutely a perfect match, which is important.

Got this pic. with my phone... more to come!!!!!!!!!!!!

And yes, I am well aware that if he decides that this is not for him,

I have aquired a new puppy. And also, that as a 5 year old, he needs

help doing things and being taught the right way. I did not just hand him

a pup and expect him to do the rest.

It's just nice to see him trying!  Good job little man, and kudos to you for letting him try :-)

What a lucky kid!  Best of luck with your pup and Jr. Handler.

Great Job!  I love seeing the kids working the dogs

I have a friend that I've been helping with her rescued 6mo GSD pup (she's disabled) and her 9 yoGrandson has started coming to training classes with me.  It's so much fun to watch the 2 "boys" work on their obedience together.  It hit me the other day that they are pretty much the same age mentally so that's proably why their a good match!
