I have been doing Schutzhund work for almost 2 years and i have just tittled my first GSD and i am working on my Male Puppy. He is much intense and focused than my first dog but the problem is he is so amazing that he never wants to STOP!! He is almost as bad as some Malinois I have seen. I am afraid that im going to over work him and he will develop some hip problems. I have never ran him nor have i ever made him jump or climb stairs. The only running he does is when i throw a ball or work on his drive. Can anyone tell me how much is too much?

Sounds like he on his way to becoming a work-aholic. I would highly suggest that you take hime swimming at least a few time a week. I don't mean for 5 mins either, more like a good 30 mins of solid swimming. Such as fetching a ball or toy from the lake or whatever good water source you can find. It will really tire him out if you do it right, and he will also get in outstanding shape! I can't stress enough how great swimming is for a dog, it can/will even help to improve and strenthen hips also. I even seen the proof of improvement in the x-rays.
It is much better to do several short sessions throughout the day the one bigh long one if you can help it. Good Luck.
