I'm curious to get everyones feedback as to what studs in the US are truly considered TOP working producers and have the pedigree and trial record to back this up? I recently bred my female Franzi vom Seebergblick (SchH3 FH2, sister to 2003 LGA Siegerin/BSP participant Finja v Seebergblick) to Belschik vom Eichen-Bruche. I know he is truly a World Class stud, but in my search for a breeding partner for Franzi I was amazed at the overall lack of info and stats for US working line studs. Can anyone provide any thoughts on him (Belschik) or any other Top working studs available in the US now?

For an old dude he is awesome I've got 7 noisy active 3week old pups that are a testament to his fertility. How many other dogs his age are as healthy? I've seen videos of some of his progeny and everytime I hear my pups barking and squealing I get goosebumps anticpating the future fun I'[m going to have with these guys

Thank you for the kind words abuot the grand old man ladies. Belschik has definatley proven himself as both a working dog, and more importantly, a PRODUCER of great working dogs with excellent overall health abd vitality. At almost 12 years of age, he is still physically and mentally sound, and has a fertility rate of 85% motility...our vets are continuously astounded by his potency ;) We have several exciting litters either on the ground now, or on their way, and we are certainly looking forward to seeing more of his progeny out there! Last year alone he had progeny in both the BSP and the WUSV!

Lots of older top males have spent their last or nearly last years in the States.... Fero v Z H Pike v Schafbachmuhle Nessel v h Antverpa Champ Barenfang Aik v h Cindy Racker Itzal Lewis Malatesta Ernst Weinbergblick and some of the big show dogs as well Lasso N and Ulk Arlett I think... just to think of a few off the top of my head that I have seen advertised in old USCA magazines... I had the opportunity see Belshick a few years ago and he was still working like a youngster...good to hear he is going to be represented by a new up and coming bunch of pups!

Unfortunately a lot of those old greats have passed on now... Bastin v Kolketal and Ernst Weinbergblick are probably the only other 2 of note asides from Belschik. But I haven't heard how their progeny has come along...

Basko von der Lutter is an impressive guy and although I haven't seen much a lot of progeny out of him, Jim Hill's Basko son Charlie is super! I understand Escobar has produced some nice pups, they are young so time will tell.

Besides the others mentioned above- V Quax Michelskirchlein SchH3, KKL-1 is a very nice working male. He's a Neck Mainieche son, an LGA participant, was used extensively at Arolser Holz kennel prior to coming to the US, produces many V rated, SchH3, progeny. Good hip production. He is the sire of V Uriel Arolser Holz SchH3, who was 2003 Vice Universal Seiger. I have a Quax daughter, very nice, good balance prey/defense, tough girl. Just bred 2 females also to V Kayos Karthago SchH3, kkl-1, brother to Kimbo. He's a Crok grandson, and his mother is from the "F" karthago litter, which is very nice. I would take that male in a heartbeat, awesome temperament, all business on the field. He's out ot stop you.

I have a bitch bred to Calimero von MaKeRa. He was in the 2002 BSP at 2 1/2 years of age. His last trial he scored 100/98/97=295v His sire is Mutz vom Kosakenwald was in the BSP 4 times and his grand sire on the bottom Gotthilf von der Kine won the BSP. Calimero's dam was also a high level competition dog. Calimero was bred over 30 times in Germany. Stoffelblick kennels bred to him and then repeated the breeding. He is owned by Randy Tyson-Witmer who also owned Mink for awhile. ZW was 71 and is now in the 60's. This same bitch was bred to Sid Fasanerie and had 5 in police homes so I like Sid as well. I know he has produced extremely well for Larry.

I believe that several of the dogs mentioned may themselves be good working dogs (which can be heavily influenced by good training)- but when looking at the production record: facts are facts! Considering I own the above dog mentioned (Belschik) I have some what of a biast opinion towards him... There isn't a single dog in the country who has produced as well as he has- Belschik has produced dogs that have competed at the BSP, Belgium Nationals, WUSV, USA Nationals, North American, and the UK Nationals...not to mention the hundreds of Belschik grand puppies that are working in police departments all over the world. One thing that is on Belschiks side is that he is an older male- so we can see what he's produced over the years.... Time will tell with some of the other dogs mentioned as to what they will actually produce.
