Sue B

It is sad there are still those who want to make their comments personal. Videx was stating FACT in his submission above and no-one should be criticised, attacked or bullied for stating facts (two wrongs do not make a right).

I was obviously delighted with my females placing in Post Grad however that doesnt mean one has to pretend the judging was perfect.

Linda B comments was right on the nose, having being pulled out first and doing nothing to warrant the 2nd dog being promoted over him,  I was bemused as to why ICE lost his place, I was more bemused on hearing the reason given during his individual critique (had he developed this undsoundness behind during the class?), needless to say by the time he had chosen his CC winner I was totally confused. All good dogs but by his own words he was the one to then make a mockery of his own judging decisions.

After the first day someone asked me what I thought of the judging, I replied that I thought he had made some strange decisions (for very similar reasons as to those made on the 2nd day) but added that, so far, I would certainly enter under him again, albeit my entries were yet to come under him on the 2nd day.

I had a female who had excellent pigmentation, was correct size and sound both fore and aft. Going on what he had been saying in his critiques as to what he was looking for she had to be in with a very good chance, we just had to cross fingers that he didn't find anything strange to do during her class.

All the best to all those who attended - the quality in every class was great which I believe was reinforced by the judge giving a Top Grading to every exhibit in every class, quite an achievement and brilliant accomplishment for the eye and expertise of British Breeders / Exhibitors.

Best Regards to all

Sue B

Videx (David)

Thanks for the words above.

Let me make it very clear to everyone again : IMO Ice - the best adult male in the UK.  For me -  sound behind.

I had a chuckle when the judge stated his 'hindquarters could improve with training' - IMO this dog is trained by the very best.

On another point - Alot of people as I mentioned before FOCUS on one point - usually the dogs negative point. But for the majority of breeders in the UK we are not able to enjoy the luxuries of Central Europe where the breeding pool is expansive, and finding the right dog to improve your females attributes is easier (providing you can get the stud! lol)

The breeders who access these lines and introduce them to the UK are to be thanked - we currently have males from Untox Ducati, Whisky Bierstadter Hof, Timo Berrekasten, Ex Arlie, Romeo vPallas Athene, Larus von Batu etc in our breeding choices - and most recently Ice whose bitch line alone is awesome sired by Yasko, and our Ferdi - from Zamp to a blend of Uri/Esko in a bitch line stretching back to 1957.

We should all strive towards top quality german shepherds moving around our rings and enjoy seeing them.

Anywhere else in europe success is applauded - in the UK it is too often slated.

My best wishes to all of those successfully exhibiting and enjoying their dogs! Long may entries the quality of that in NI continue.

Never underestimate the strength of a strong family line.

Congratulations to Ferdinand and Farina vom Amulree along with Fiona and her club.  I hope someday I will be able to see them all in person.  I am lucky enough to have a Ferdinand and Farina litter mate - Felice (call name Molly).  I could not ask for a better dog and am having a great time trainer her.  Again all my best and much success and thanks to Fiona for breeding such wonderful gsd's.

I was very impressed with Ferdinand and Farina vom Amulree, sired by Sieger Zamp vom Thermodos a proven top producer. I hope there are  some excellent offspring in our litter to Zamp, due very shortly.

There were very clear signs that the quality of our GSD in the UK is significantly improving, I hope this continues, after all our Championship Shows are the "window" onto the state of our breed here in the UK. Given the commitment by breeders, and the opportunities of excellent breeding partners and bloodlines, along with a growing spirit of comraderie within our very demanding sport, I see very bright prospects for our breed. Of course there will always be negatives, but as long as the positives outnumber them, we will make real progress.

Maintaining the subject matter, but looking to the future

I offer the GSD Club of Scotland my services in the "promotion"  for the Two Day Show 2008

By services, I mean a web-page on my web-site, with DOWNLOAD facilities for the SCHEDULE & ENTRY FORMS, also my "emailing"  service, to include DOWNLOAD facilities 'embedded' within the emails.

I also pledge £100 sponsorship for the Show

I really want next years Two Day Show to be at least as good as this years.

Xandrous GSD (odd name)

I sold the dog to his new owner in Ireland.

Xandro is Philipp aus der Neuen Haufstrasse' eldest son and has multiple ch show wins to his credit.  He was SG3 at the UK sieger 2006.

His hips are an excellent 11 total - his colour stunning, his attitute super and his nature 100% solid.

He was not shown from Nov 06 when he won JD at WBAS ch beating Tizer (now 2cc) and Quantas Master (now 2rcc), but for his new owner I did some work with him prior to the national and entered him in PGD.

On the day he teamed up with his usual handler Craig Rice and performed superbly to take 2nd PGD behind the eventual ticket winner. (I must thank Fiona for her part in Xandros presentation - he is a livewire to get ready!)

He was much admired ringside which no doubt made Billys day as much as the large trophy Xandro secured him.

He is now training with Billy his new dad and I wish him all the very best with Xandro - with good guidance from experienced breeders I truly hope he does well for him in Ireland.

Pencil

Quite simple really - you cant keep them all.

Xandro was not for sale - until his new owner contacted me looking for a female.  As it turns out he really wanted a male to show but couldnt find a breeder who was willing to sell a good one.  The new owner proved himself to me and I decided he sounded ideal for Xandro - and as I had 4 males in the kennel at the time I let him go.

Xandro is a quality dog who gave me many great days - his nature is superb.  I think he will make 'Billy' a very happy man. He was a little unlucky in the UK to always be against Tizer, Fabius and Quantus-Master (the latter a dog whose training I am involved in and who I often handle)

My oldest male will never leave his place on the sofa and Ferdinand currently gets most of our attention until he returns to Fiona later in the year.

Hope that makes sense to you.

And good luck Xandro-man - See you soon x

Dear David,

First of all I would like to thank you, as Treasurer of the GSD Club of Scotland, for your kind pledge of £100 sponsorship for the 2 day show 2008 (this will be acknowledged) hosted by the GSD Club of Scotland.

I also wish to thank you for your generous offer of help via your website. This will be of valuable help to us as I'm sure a lot of GSD Exhibitors log on to your site.

Aileen Mathieson, Secretary, will I am sure be in touch, also if anyone needs information do not hesitate in e-mailing me at stanire@blueyonder.co.uk , & I will endevour to answer any queries.

To squash any rumours about the venue, it is just off the Forth Road Bridge & we, with your permission, hope to put a map & directions on your website. A dog show has never been held here so it is a 1st but hopefully not the last. There are several Exhibitors training their dogs here at the moment they may be able to comment about this site & it's suitabilty as a venue for this such show.

The committee are working very hard to make sure this show is as good as this years 2 day show in Ireland, if not better, this is a new venue with masses space for the Exhibitor & spectator, e.g Tents. Caravans, Cars, Showers & Toilets etc.

We would like to thank you once again David for your Generosity.

Kind Regards

Irene Foster

Hello Irene Foster, thank you for your information about the planned venue for next years two day show, it sounds excellent.

If you want a map on the "2 day show 2008" web-page, you will have a map on the "2 day show 2008" web-page.

I am certain the hard working committee will put on a very enjoyable & successful "2 day show 2008"
