I don't know who this dog is, but I like the way he stands with his elbow directly below the highest point of his withers and I think he has a correct forechest/ brisket. He appears to be balanced and if he uses himself as it looks like he should, I would expect to see a fully opened shoulder joint. BUT, you won't know that til you see him moving in person . I like to see the front pad touch the ground directly under the tip of the dog's muzzle if he's moving with his neck extended and his head at the level of his topline. This dog looks like he could do that assuming he is agile enough. I'm not paticualrly fond of a GSD with a stocky body like this one; I think I am in the minority though
.
Nice pasterns and beautiful feet too.

Thanks Laura
Blitzen, that is VA Ober von Bad Boll, one of the best recent VAs, no soft pasterns, no loose hocks and his gaiting is breath taking, fluid and ground covering, he is also a dog of presence.
I wonder if Susie so him in flesh or even laid her hands on him, I love this dog.

Is that Goldfarb's co-owned dog? I can understand why he would be well liked.
Never mind, Ober isn't co-owned by Goldfarb..

Here's another comparison of how the exact position in a stack changes the apearance of a dog.
Photos of a Jyota, first 2 were taken moments apart she was about 13 months at the time.
Again photos of Jyota taken moments apart, she was about 10 months old for these 2 photos.

I don't know who owns him, but I got a DVD, about 70 minutes, of him, gaiting, bite and playing with him at home, he is amazing. In the DVD his gait is so beautiful.
Unfortuenately I searched youtube for his gait so I would post it here, the only clip available is not good at all, I wonder why they would put on youtube the worst clips, just as if a different dog.

I've seen this with a dog I co-owned. She looked roached on her Urma, wasn't at all that way in the flesh.

Ibrahim, I have come to the conclusion that some GSD breeders just don't know what is good movement what is not. Look at some of the photos used to advertise litters on this board and websites. Some are painful to look at.
