Although it would be ideal to have all the GSD population x-rayed and Graded ,and this is not the case, the main figures to look for is the percentage of Graded dogs for a sire or dam against those born to them and registered in the system, low numbers would indicate a selection to exclude those not so good , with a high % being submitted indicating more that the owners believe would grade better. We must assume if everyone is checking them first to choose those that get submitted and those that do not then this is a good measurement to see who is producing the better grades from the ZW system which is the best we have at the moment.

As I can agree with what you say Member, with only one stipulation : Many pups get sold to pet homes, at least this is my experience. Pet owners do intend not to x-ray, one reason is the financial side, but most of them dont want to put their "Baby" through the stress of it ! You are most certainly right, the way we have it set up right now, is the best we have, but should only be used in breeding decisions as one of many reasons to make a breeding.

WAY too early in the morning for me to read, and understand this...I'll check this, and hopefully comprehend it tonight.
Thanks guys, though I'm more confused than I was when I started...
