Has anyone one bought a dog from Câine de Lup in Atlanta Ga before?

by CACK9 on 25 February 2022 - 19:02

I’ve had and worked with multiple dogs from there. What info are you looking for?

I purchased a 3 month old puppy from this kennel back in Aug 2021 . Was told that she was AKC Reg with full breeding rights but had to wait on paper work because the dam was imported from Czech and he had to do the DNA Testing to get the dams AKC papers . We are now in February 2022 and still no AKC Reg on my pup . Told me that AKC was backed up. I called AKC and the lady told me they where not backed up . Just wondering if he is lying to me about her having AKC papers.

It's not unusual for some delay in paper work from Europe. but it's really not that difficult for the folks that make sure to dot the iI's and cross the t's.

this kennel looks to have serious dogs and breeding. and certainly look to have experience with EU dogs. I would be surprised if a kennel breeding dogs on this level got duped or intentionally is trying to be dishonest. they have nice enough dogs there is no need too.

hope you keep the board posted.

The AKC has different departments, so if you weren’t talking to someone that deals with import liters you may get a different answer to how backed up they are. Covid, along with staffing issues would definitely play a big part in any delays. As Rik said, a kennel with this type of reputation would not be out to spite anyone. The best thing to do is sit tight, unfortunately the processing of the paper work is out of the breeders hand.

Yes, I am still waiting on the papers.
No, I did not lie to you, I just told you what the AKC told me.

You probably did not talk to the import registration department, which is completely separate. Imported dogs have a different registration procedure than dogs born here. All the dog papers have been submitted, DNA test done, but I can not control that this is taking so long. In over 10 years I’ve never had an issue or waited this long for papers but ever since Covid happen they barely return calls or emails.

Ha ! You guys think the pandemic has given you delays with AKC - just thank your lucky stars if you haven't had to deal with the UK Kennel Club over this time period. Just before Covid hit, our KC switched to a new IT system. It has its peculiarities. When you add the IT 'teething problems' to staff shortages through Covid, and to a fair few staff who have never been trained properly (either in the new IT or dog matters in general), those KC staff & officers who actively want to be helpful have had a hell of a time dealing with the ensuant multiplicity of mistakes and delays. Not helped by the attitude of some executives.

I love it when a kennel/owner answers the question directly...
