Comment From L. Stout From A Forum In An Argument About The Parentage Of Boss Hog

There is no "second set" of paperwork on Bosshog. When Boss was born, neither of his parents were registered. When Jay(Dorsey) was ready to retire him, we bought him and individual registered him as an American Bulldog with NKC. At the time, Jay told us he thought his parents were Andre and Sideburns (aka Battleaxe). Our reasoning behind registering him as an American Bulldog was due to the fact that Hines(Billy) had already bought Flash/Snowbird, Ladybird, and Sideburns and registered them the same.

It was only a few years ago, when the argument about Andre being a registered Pit came up, that Jay did some rethinking on the matter and told us he had been mistaken. According to Jay (and recently backed up by Oliver Vernon), Boss was actually out of Flash and Outlaw, which would make him a full brother to Ladybird and Sideburns. That said, we never changed the paperwork on Bosshog. I state this fact right on our web site. Boss was already dead at that point, and there is no way to prove which parents Boss was actually out of, so we left the paperwork as-is. The only re-registering that was ever done with Bosshog (and the rest of our dogs, for that matter), was to change the breed name from American Bulldog to Old-Time Southern Bulldog, back in 1997.

This is a dog pedigree, used by breeders and breed enthusiasts to see the ancestry and line-breeding of that individual dog. The pedigree page also contains links to the dogs siblings and progeny (if any exist). For dog owners with purebred dogs this is an excellent resource to study their dog's lineage.
