Biewer breeder throws the towel in! by Coolio on 23 February 2012 - 23:19
Due to personal circumstances we have decided to discontinue our breeding program. We therefore have, besides our current litter, our adult girls, who will be available in March. If you are interested in one of our Biewer Yorkies, please contact us.
First of all I'd like to state that the following is purely based on my personal thoughts and my concern for the future of the Biewer Yorkie breed. I have no issues whatsoever with the Golddust breed or any other new breed for that matter. I have often wondered why the Golddust did not show up for Mr. Biewer or anyone else for a long time... and then POOF all of a sudden there's Golddust in the lines? My concern is the breedings of Golddust to Biewer, thus creating Golddust carriers amongst the Biewers. Unfortunately I have noticed that the majority of German Biewer breeders have also started with the Golddust. They're breeding Golddust to Biewer and by doing so, lowering the quality of the Biewer. By breeding these quantities of Biewers to Golddust there will be so many Biewers (Golddust carriers) out there, making it virtually impossible to find a purebred Biewer Yorkshire. It is already extremely difficult to find a suitable Friedheck originated Biewer Yorkshire nowadays for your breeding program and with these amounts of Golddust carriers being bred, it will make it even harder. The Golddust is said to be a Yorkie, but then why is the standard not the same as the Yorkie's and Biewer Yorkies? where as the Yorkie and Biewer Yorkies is set at 3.1 kg.? This is unbelievable to me (our Biewer Yorkie breeders all weigh between 1.8 and 2.3 kg), instead of working on the Golddust's size and appearance before having them recognized as a new breed, they just worked around it by producing a standard to fit their own dogs. Do we want to have all these Biewers (Golddust carriers) out there.....certainly NOT! Not only will the Biewer lose their vibrant colours and type, but the size and weight will also rise. You can find the same thing happening in other animals, such as birds and guinea-pigs. As soon as someone comes along with a new type or colour, these "breeders" immediately smell big bucks and can't wait to have their own. This is why other types/breeds are brought into them to hurry up the process. Will the Golddust"Yorkie"be the end of the Biewer Yorkshire I truly believe that any serious/reliable Biewer Yorkshire breeder would never consider bringing a new breed into their dogs, other than the Yorkie, from which they originated from. It will take years to breed these Golddust out of your Biewer Yorkie lines and I believe that there is still a way to go in perfecting the Biewer Yorkshire breed. This is definately not something we want or need. Therefore I would strongly advise all serious Biewer Yorkshire á la Pom-Pon breeders to ban these Biewers (golddust carriers) from their breeding programs! These Golddust carriers will be the end of the Biewer Yorkshire, say no against these Golddust carriers. Judging by their type, colour and weight, the Golddust has no right being in Biewer Yorkshire breeding programs. The ACH and IBC, where you can, amongst other clubs, register these dogs have agreed that all Biewer Yorkshires born out of Golddust (or two Golddust carriers) will be registered as Biewer Yorkshire (Golddust carrier). The same is already being done with Yorkies born out of Biewers who are registered as Yorkshire Terrier (Biewer Yorkshire carrier). Pim

If you consider yourself as a serious Biewer Yorkshire breeder, now or in the future, then please say no to any Biewer Yorkshires bred from Golddust Yorkies. If you'd rather better the Biewer Yorkshire breed, simply use the best Yorkshire Terrier lines, why? Because that's where the Biewer Yorkshire originated from. We ourselves believe that one should study the pedigrees, the reputation of the breeder and most importantly use your eyes, just look at the Biewer Yorkshire and you should see for yourself if it has the appearance of a Biewer YORKSHIRE á la Pom-Pon or NOT. (take a look at an old picture (© IBC-Germany) taken in 1988 where Mr. Biewer and members of the ACH club showed some beautiful original bred Friedheck Biewer Yorkshire á la Pom-Pon.)

| This is what we have said for years now go away and lick your wound's just like other perfectly honest people had to do when you for no reason other than spite and a false sense of duty toward's IBC went public defending a women with NO morals who has now it seems stabbed you in the back too. http://www.biewerbaby.eu/ As of March the 1st we no longer support the IBC (Internationaler Biewer Yorkshire Club) This "one woman" club is just here to take your money and does absolutely nothing to better the breed. In fact you can register any dog, with or without a pedigree!!! Prices for pedigrees and other services are ridiculously high and you are denied access to the stud books. For more information, please feel free to contact us. |
