Funny thing is, there is one male being used in KNPV known to produce soft dogs.

I wouldn't call it a small genepool. The names that were posted, all of them had a different pedigree with different type of dogs. That wasn't coming out of the same genepool. Usually if something is coming out of a small genepool you can see a pattern. That pattern wasn't there.

So maybe you can post the name of this dog who produce soft dogs, also the names from the females he was breeding with

And post  the names from offspring you work or decoying so this make something clear. and post also in what way was your experience this dogs were soft..

Nobody here is saying every KNPV dog will produce super hard dogs

So Ok I will post a famous KNPV dog who produce some soft dogs but he also produce the KNPV champion Big Roy and I wouldn,t call this a soft dog. Hunter from Gerrit Vonk I have owned a offspring who was some sensitive when I was put pressure on him can,t handle this. I also have seen many offspring and decoying some of them and most of them I was not impressed.

his  father Bowie who  produced very well ..........

So just like IPO... who would have thought.... LOL

PS: no time to get into the whole debate about the male. Just got our D litter. Also, our helper is very involved in KNPV and has trained under quite a few KNPV people from the Netherlands. I like him a lot. Reminds me of my father when he tests dogs. I do have to admit that the old IPO/SchH guys test and approach dogs differently than people today. They use very subtle body language to get a reaction out of a dog and I haven't seen any of the new helpers know how to use it. However, this guy, the helper that we've got right now, who does a lot of KNPV stuff. He knows. He doesn't need to make a theater and be active to get a dog to react. He's very passive, it's all in his posture and body language.

Anyhow, if ya'll are interested, this right here is the breeding. I am happy to share the experience and show the good and bad and the ugly. I'm expecting good and hard, yet social dogs. Probably not sporty dogs though... http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/breeding.result?father=2458728&mother=2289704

It have nothing to do with IPO or KNPV it have to do with genetics from individual dog what can he /she produce, I hope you will understand this you can,t expect in the wonder world of genetics it is always , so easy....I have seen hard dogs with the hardest toughest bloodlines who don,t produce what would expected this would sometimes happens.

Basically in knvp they aim/breed for harder dogs with over the top fight drive and real social aggression that can be on the streets and do real police work , Exactly the opposite of what ipo wants or direction they wanna go.
