Good Morning,
My female is about 36 days pregnant(had ultra sound done 3 days ago found 7 pups) well about a week after being bred she was eating no problem. Then started adding liver, cottage cheese, yogart and canned food to her kibbles.Wel now she won't touch her food if kibbles is in it.And now she will not eat her food with canned it has to be just liver, cottage cheese and yogurt.I have never had a dog that would be this picky when pregnant. When I had her up to the vets she did get a clean bill of health. So what I'm asking what else could I be feeding this girl so she isn't lacking anything?I have read other post and some say it is normal she is going through a stage.
Thanks
Steve

I should've told you she was always a picky eater. And she never did eat much just 2 cups of food a day.And yes she always kept her weight(68to 72 lbs).I'm just thinking she is loving the liver and saying the hell with the kibbles. And when we were at the vets Friday. She said good health.Nice bright eyes and nice coat and weight good.

Have a complete blood panel done on your female to make sure she doens't have an infection and the rest levels are good. You never know what's happening inside of her.

If all comes back clear than all you can do is keep a close eye on her.

I have a bitch that will only eat raw chicken quarters when she's pregnent, and will go back to eating kibble after the pups are born. Not sure what its all about, but her puppies are born healthy and she has lots of milk.

 liver,cottage cheese,yogart

My kids like the rotation of chicken and steak and always an egg with your recipe above. Raw of course. Im real eggy during any finicky stages.   Dont forget pork, fish and lamb.

$ wise.  All my stores have a clearance section 50% off in the meat dept. Im often seen leaving with a shopping cart half full.

A pregnant woman who only desires to eat only what she wants.... Call 911. HaHa..

I would throw in blood work if her appetite drops dramatically.

But her piss off Im only eating the good stuff because you let him do this to me, sounds fair enough. :)~

Ok blood work came back normal, And temperture was only 100.1.So we decided she is just finicky.
Ok right now she is getting about a pound of cooked liver, half tub of cottage cheese, cooked rice and some yogurt.Let's not forget a few table scrapes( steak or pork, chicken and veggies.
Now does this sound about right feeding wise? Should I be giving her supplements?
Thanks
Steve

What kind of kibble are you offering?  You could always try offering some Orijen or another really high quality kibble. There are also some really good canned foods too.  Walmart has a new grain free brand called Paramount which looks not too bad for the price.  Mine go crazy when i open up a package of the wet food.

I talked to the breeder that I got her from and he said when she was pregnant he had her on Eukanuba performance.Well I tried that and no luck she would just turn her nose up she would only take the liver out.
Then tried taste of the wild and nothing.
I did get a sample pack of the 4health and nothing.
She is now turning her nose up at canned food.
She will eat her treat (taste of the wild) like it's going to be her last meal.
Same as raost beef, liver and pork.
