My GS bitch just had a litter of puppies one week ago. 6 total, the last two were stillborn. Have been weighing them every other day. One make didn't gain as much as others. Next day all was left in the kennel was the ribbon around his neck. Assuming he died and bitch ate him? Today weight is not going as it should on other male. Should I assume the same thing will happen? The females are progressing just fine... What's going on? I do have another grown male here, is that the problem? Need advice quickly!

The bitch should not be in an environment that causes her stress. She should be away from a kennel in a safe area with a whelping box. No other dogs should be around her, definitely not unsupervised. Puppies can be suffocated if you are not careful. Are all the pups nursing?

what are you feeding ? Quantity
Does mum get restless when the pups are nursing ?
do you manually put the under weight pups on the end teats to suckle ?

First of all I will on speak of what we do and what we've found out...

Probably the best thing we've ever bought for a litter of puppies is a Digital Scale...We not only weigh ALL the puppies twice a day I Track...Chart and Record each puppy twice a day...
If there's a puppy that doesn't gain weight within a day...We will supplement them with some goat's milk...but making sure they're on mama while you're there for sure...If they don't suckle then you'd have to tube feed them...
Stillborn puppies happens but you need to be there throughout the whole whelping process...If mama gets tired you need to help out...Sometimes you need to help with the sack and cleaning out a puppy's lungs...
Mama will do things like eat a puppy that isn't right or sometimes dies...this is Mother Nature's way of protecting her litter...
I would never have another adult dog around her while she is having her litter or while the puppies are very young...Mother dogs are very protective and can do unexpected things...
