It's interesting to see how different breeds have changed over time.

Speaking of which, I have a cocker spaniel come in to be boarded on a regular basis that has her eyes nearly hidden by a fatty fold above them. She looks like she has a perpetual scowl. I assumed this was a fault, and she'd been sold as a pet because of it. She certainly looke really funny to my eye, and as spaniels go, was rather small.

Imagine my surprise when the owner told me the other day that the breeder had been holding her back as one of two show prospects in the litter! He/she went with the other dog, as it was larger!

Love the pictures. Today's sighthounds look remarkably close in type to those featured from 1881. Of course the Afs have much more coat for today's show ring. Cassandra
