I'll be watching. Thanks.

Pray my bitch isn't in season. If she is, it's her first one, and her timing could not possibly be worse.

I've been panicking that maybe she has raisins for ovaries, and I told my friends, "Just watch. Watch her come in right before or at Westminster. Just WATCH HER DO IT!"

Sure enough, I turned her over the other day...99% sure that little wench is coming in.

I laughed. I laughed the hysterical laughter of somebody who realizes a major wrench has been thrown in her plans and is simultaneously relieved.

Bitches are the worst.

Only if you allow it to be an issue. Saying that in a friendly way. I've trialed my female while in heat, and did the same thing I do while training when they are in heat... expect them to work as usual.
She'll be fine if you are :-)

Best of luck, Xeph! I'll be watching as I always do, but it will be more interesting this year to "know" one of the competitors. Your photos are lovely, btw.

Mikasa is no longer known as Mikasa. Her name is now The Worst. Because she is.

It is official...Baby Bitch just started her first season and will be in standing heat for Westminster. GOOD JOB, THE WORST!

you gotta love those big perky GSD ears! Beautiful dogs.

Wish you much success.

oh, and isn't Mikasa going to be "popular" with all the fellas at the show!

Oh gawd! :( Wouldn't you know it? But sometimes with that first season, it isn't a full heat (they don't ovulate) so the guys aren't terribly interested.

Hoping the best for you, and that all goes smoothly!

And boy, your dogs are sure having a blast in those photos! Nice pics!

Thanks :). This just isn't stress I needed. Hormonal bitches aren't my favorite.

While some don't act any differently, others get real touchy and suspicious about people around their back end. They get stupid. I've seen girls run the gamut in all lines.

Hmm, guess the owners of 'the guys' might be a wee bit
stressed also, if she does prove to be "interesting" on the
day ! Westminster is a very high profile Show if some
Steward decides to pick up on your bitch being in Heat.

Don't know how you Americans usually handle these things,
but for my money - FWIW - I would pull my entry if it was
my problem. Here in the UK it is still "not the done thing"
(although a fair few people do !) to take an in-season bitch
to a show.

Appreciate what a disappointment this would be for you.
Two points of consolation : 1] She is young, she has qualified
once, she can do it again. 2] She is young ... and young girls
on their first heat can become The Worst when it comes to her
being handled in the ring, too !  (And I don't just mean by the

Judge).

Showing bitches in season is very much the done thing here. It's obvious that boys are intact or not, but with bitches, the general thought is "What better way to prove they're intact?"

We're all still going, we'll be fine. I'll pop a few Xanax. Lord knows that she won't be the only girl in season....there are over 3000 dogs entered. If I need to pull her, I'll do so on the day.
