We are scant months away from the SV Sieger Show, in October 19-22, and not only is the field a bit hazy, but the main contenders are avoiding each other like the Monkeypox...
It is usually a good exercise to try and handicap at least who will reach VA. Last year, I was pleasantly surprised when I picked Zet vom Napte-Emmer-Eck as a "dark horse" to crack VA. A good friend of mine was touting Yoris v Osterbergerland and came up short. No money, just bragging rights.

Last year's VA1 Mondo di Casa Palomba, a very good looking son of Willy vom Kuckucksland out of Nita I della Valcuvia won. I heard some rumblings about the result, but who knows... Given the gossip, he should revalidate. Since last BSZS. He is 7 for seven... If he shows, he should win. Then he could be sold to a Chinese buyer.
VA-2 was Asap vom Aldamar. A very well bred sin of Fight vom Holtkämper Hof out of Galina vom Frankengold. IMPO, Asap would have won in 2020. Some expect him to show as a "Veteran"... Since the last BSZS, the old warhorse has won 5 shows in a row... Having missed out on VA1 in '20, his owners may be making a case of functional longevity. Turns 7 in September. He may drop to VA3, but if Mondo retires, Asap may finally get his well deserved due.
VA-3 Usher aus der Brunnenstraße.. Another Willy vom Kuckucksland son out of Ugne vom Valtenberg. Should any of the above falter he SHOULD benefit.
VA-4 Nero von Ghattas Gary vom Hühnegrab - Bella von Ghattas. Outstanding competitor. Will turn six in September. May improve marginally by October, but has not placed above Mondo nor Usher. May actually drop a couple of spots.
VA-5 Sastor vom Hühnegrab Indro vom Hühnegrab - Gayla vom Hühnegrab Another 6 year old. No shows since last September.
VA-6 Spencer di Casa Massarelli Groovy di Casa Massarelli - Kiwi II di Casa Massarelli. Also 6 y.o. has competed came in behind Usher. 3xV1 against rather pedestrian competition. IIWH, I'd stay home.
VA-7 Tell von Ghattas Duran vom Team Hühnegrab - Ursa von Ghattas turns 6 after the BSZS. Has 2 shows since the last BSZS. Lost to Asap and beat VA-9 If Mondo is retired, he could end up VA3... Worth the trip.
After that, it is a bit interchangeable among VA-8 Udro vom Team Panoniansee, VA-9 Uvo dell'Alto Ofanto
VA-10 Zet vom Napte-Emmer-Eck, V-1 Wacron del Rione Antico and V-2 Youles von Aducht. I expect Zet and Youles to improve a spot or two, but it is too early to tell. After that, For us and a few others. '21 young Sieger, Reno von Angelius Team may well crack VA, and SG3 Bizmarks Hof Lars is on the edge of that group... Granted, these are very rough guesses because if one shows with a large progeny group, it could tip the scales.

FWIW... Draco v Roosvec is back on the show train as he's now standing at stud... I don't expect him to crack the VA ranks.
