YesMi Gsd      all the above in his food and get him a cow hoof or some raw round steak bones to chew in his crate.....he needs to strengthened his ligaments with the bones......give him raw meats in his food   he needs the extra vitamins and minerals and lots of cottage cheese and yogurt... 

his feet , his bones and his teething take the calcium from his ears and he needs to chew.....built strength in jaw line ligaments go upward and he will attention and use those same ligaments...

best to describe....unless he has parents or grandparents with floppy or soft ears......do not tape nor worry....up to 8 mos old they go up they go down   on some larger boned, heavy pups......

smaller headed and smaller boned pups go up immediately...Vets love to scare people into the 75.00 0r 100.00 fee they charge to tape ears....

Had a vet tell one of my pup ears  oh his ears will never stand   ha ha ha....he had a lot of other scare tactics also like  this pup sits sideways ,,,see ,,he has bad hips    ha hah     ofa good   I had a few choice words for that vet...Here is his pic   ears and all  Dr.Pepper
