You're in luck. There are a couple good people there in your area that can help you train/show whatever you decide to get. It's good that you're aware breeders rarely sell their best on purpose unless you are a show home or have something to offer for future benefit to the breeder such as puppies, breeding rights, co ownership, etc.

I wouldn't sell out the American breeders just yet. Check out the results from the recent North American Sieger Show and the American Bred dogs did better than the imports in the younger classes. There are many excellent litters being bred right here in the US. There's a lot to choose from starting around 1,500. Find the US breeders that have the good females and start your search there. (Here's a clue. The ones you find easiest on the internet are most likely not the best. They may be the best website,,,,but look at the results from shows and trials to see which ones really have their act together.)

Many of the breeders have a program you can be a part of and will assist with training and showing. Start local as distance is a factor when it comes time to train. Good luck!
