In doing some research I noticed that dogs can be listed here on PDB with OFA scores despite those scores not existing in the OFA database. I found one such instance and wrote a request for correction, but I just wondered if there was a better way to do this.

Breeders should not be able to claim OFA "excellent" scores or similar when they never actually received them. This is really misleading. One guess which Malinois breeder was involved in the one example I referenced above....*rolleyes*

jillmissal  send me the list of the dogs you found that are not on the OFA site.  I continue to check and remove information that is not found on the OFA site.

The Admin continues post in the member forum the PDB rules

Jillmissal instead of alluding that a Malinois breeder is doing something wrong (we have several Malinois breeders here) or be snarky (rolleyes) just be helpful and as Heritage says post the name of the dog that you think has an incorrect OFA.

Just because you see incorrect information posted on a dog DOES NOT mean that the owner of the dog posted it.

Anyone who sees's something that they think is incorrect please just post the dog's name and an Admin will check it out. There are hundreds of thousands of dogs here and only a handful of Admin to check all of them.

The help of all members is greatly appreciated in making sure each dog's information is correct.

Well said Western, and no need to start a thread just PM one of the Pedigree Admin!!

Moved this thread to the Main forum, where is the proof of a scam being committed? until proven there is no scam!!!!

No need to get all upset, there just wasn't a straightforward way to address it nor a straightforward place to post it.

The dog in question was listed incorrectly and has such been changed, the dog was Paws Ranch's Red Cedar.

You all know I am very strict on health data and when I see a dog listed as having "OFA Excellent" hips/elbows when it has never actually been properly screened I think that is pretty serious.

Edit to add: I'm literally the only person here posting under their real name that I have so far seen, so I'm the last to be trying to hide anything. Just saying.

I've not been concerned with whether or not someone posts under his/her real name or kennel name because some people simply cannot post under real name due to safety, identity theft, etc. issues.  I'm one, so I'm grateful to be able to have a screen name that allows me to participate.   Fortunately, after awhile, one gets to recgnize screen names, just as one recgnizes real names/kennel names   People not posting under kennel names probably eliminates a lot of sale-type questions from potential buyers that do not know the forum rules, as well, whuch would cause a lot of work for the admins.

Unfortunately, the world isn't all cute and fuzzy like puppies (and kittens).  I hate when anyone deliberately misrepresents dogs, cats, services, prices, etc. and really appreciate people that do their best to be honest.

Thanks and kudos to the admins for the b'zillions of hours of time they put in here. I had no idea until I posted a suggestion awhile back that would have caused them even more work.

jillmissal, there actually is a straight-forward way to address it: you send a PM to an Admin, and provide them with the information you find questionable. Easy-peasy.

If you don't want to pull up the list of Admins with the links to the PMs, there's nearly always at least one thread in the "Latest Posts" list where you'll find one of Admins was either the originator of the thread, or the most recent responder, and all you have to do is click on the Admin's name to get to send them a PM.

Jill of course there was a direct way to raise the issue; MrDarcy proved that by moving the topic. And as Hexe posts, there are frequent posts by the Admins about how to contact them.

I too am careful about the amount of work I ask the Admins to do for us, as I'm aware that there are only a few of them and they give their time willingly to help us.

Aside from the reasons GSCat has listed, many of us have usernames simply because we were invited to provide one when we first came to this site, and at that time it was a much more frequent thing to identify in that way for the internet;
but, like many others here, I have never made any secret of my identity, and quite a few people know exactly who I am even tho' I am nobody very 'prominent' in the GSD world.

What if the dog has Preliminary Results that aren’t in the database? I know I have entered my dogs results with their Preliminary scores first until they were old enough to get their Official Ratings. Also for PennHIP since there isn’t a database for that.

Furious you can always put the information in the comments section and a picture of the certificate in a photo gallery for proof.
