Yes, there are a lot of dogs like this out there, but people not competing, but looking "online" only, will never see these dogs. They are not "worth" to go online. They are just normal...

Dog and handler were out of their league.

Looks like a strong dog to some....it's all relative. Testosterone is not what causes this dog to mess up...if it was, then how would you explain the outstanding males who make it to the very top levels...they are not exactly " soyboiz".

Strong till a " little stress is added"....says it all.

If you put this dog into someone else's hands, you would get a different picture.

Of course. That's how weaker dogs are passed off as strong.....excellent training can cover up a lot of problems with a dog.

The same dog in the hands of an inexperienced handler will look vastly different than the same dog trained by an experienced handler

It's not about covering up problems. At least , not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about control, proper training, etc

It is interesting that almost nobody looks at the dog past the training of this dog. It is not that I like the dog because he did not perform as required by the IPO rules There are hundreds of dogs like that. This not about dog's performance as much as it is about its attitude. This is a hard dog and if trained correctly it would be formidable LE/PP dog where others who DQ would not be. It needs to be recognized that there are different reasons for failure.At least that is how I see it.
BTW this is IPO DVG Nationals thus I do not understand when people are saying that the dog is out of his league and such. I am sure it took some doing to get to that level of competition. In my opinion, every dog who makes to Nationals is very good to exceptional.

@ Vito; Sure it's about covering up weak nerves that the dog displays. Good training can " correct" his issues and he will look better. But still the same dog....won't change the genetics.

If I was not experienced how would I know that. Or I could just blabber a bunch of stuff read in a book or on line like some people do.
