Hey everyone, question: What stores typically allow dogs? I am looking for more ideas and places to take my pup to do training each week to continually build confidence(he's a confident pup at 9 weeks) and get him used to working in many new places. Of course Tractor Supply(we have two) and Kelton's Hardware allow them. And there are places around the "square" here where tons of people are going, but it's often too hot to really do much around there right now. Where are some places you guys take your dogs?

I have taken my dog into Lowes, Homedepot, Hobby Lobby, and Cabela's, but I am always looking for more stores I can take him to.

Bed Bath and Beyond is another one.

You Americans are lucky ! A majority of stores here in the UK cling fast to an interpretation of Hygiene laws meant for food shops and restaurants, to ban "all dogs except guide dogs" from just about everywhere ! I don't know that many of them even think it through; how many have actually had a dog cock its leg on a display, or steal some item from a low shelf? Doesn't seem to bother proprietors of pet stores, the one type of shop where we can almost guantee admittance.

An employee was attacked by a dog at home depot in Canada, so now none of the stores allow dogs anymore. (I read this somewhere.)

I bring my dogs to Home Depot, Tractor Supply, Hobby Lobby, Feed stores, Lowes, Sutherlands, LumberYard, some Pet supply stores and any other places that will allow him. I have been taking him to places like that his whole life. I live out in the country in Texas and almost every place out here allows dogs as long as they are on a leash.

I love brining him places to help him get more socialized and so he can get out of the house every once in a while. He gets so many looks when we are out. He wears a harness that says "ask to pet" so no one will walk up and distract him, he has to sit or lie down before he can be petted or treated. Kids love him, and he loves kids.

Guess, I am glad to live in Germany.
Over here almost all non food stores do allow dogs, as do most restaurants ( no dogs in the kitchen 😀 ).
They just don't want to see bad mannered dogs...

My city is pretty relaxed, our area has a lot of restaurants that allow dogs on the patio and most clothing/supply stores will allow dogs as long as they are on a leash and are well behaved and properly licensed, animals have to have a name tag with a phone number and address on it and a valid rabies tag with the clinic name on it. Shiro goes almost everywhere with me, the people at Home Depot and Tractor Supply know him by name and even have treats especially for him.
