Shelley, what I am about to do is presumptious and for that I apologize. If it's not something that would interest you then by all means speak up and say so and you can kick my butt when you make it to CA.

A wise woman told me once that there are AT LEAST 4 solutions to every problem. So here are some of the solutions I see and perhaps others can offer ones they see so that out of the brainstorming maybe one will pop up that's just right for you.
1. Go back to PA ( NOT)
2. Wander until you are completely exhausted and can not go on (NOT)
3. Stop dead in your tracks and make a new life there ( maybe)
4. Throw a dart at a map and choose a new town and go there
5. Head for a direction that appeals to you ( CA, Pacific NW, South) and find a way to get there.
6. Stop, breathe, rest for a day or two and plan what your next move will be and what help you need to ask for.

So in the spirit of lets throw some spaghetti on the wall and see what sticks here is my idea for a plan.

Now boys and girls this is what I see and the solution I would like to suggest.
Shelley has successfully escaped from the land of trolls and ogres but has become becalmed in the great grass plains of Middle Earth. She and her precious cargo need to make their way to the Promised Land ( omg I've lived here to long if I'm calling CA the promised land) AKA the land of the fruits and nuts but the horizen is distant and far and her resources are thin. But wait a solution lies within our grasp.

How many USA, WDA,clubs, AKC/UKC breed, obedience and tracking clubs lie between Middle Earth and the late great state of CA? We need 1-2 people with newer, faster computers than mine who can step up to be coordinators. One with map at hand to map out who can be contacted with particular information on the offers of places to stay temporarily or long term and the second to work with board members and their clubs to book speaking/working engagements for Shelley as she traverses the country.

How about booking a seminar on tracking, obedience, schutzhund or show ring handling? Why not hire her to judge a fun match for you. Eons ago I was VP and program coordinator for a local GSDCA club. We paid to bring in well known breeders who spoke about the ikons of the breed that they knew, or owned, or had bred to and to talk about their breeding programs and the good and the bad of the different lines etc etc. Always fascinating and wll worth it. Combine it with a spaghetti dinner that you sell for $5-6 bucks and you have some extra money to add to Shelley's honorarium.

We need to weave a web of clubs she can visit to talk to and/or train at both in clinics and privately. The 2nd coordinator could email USA and WDA member clubs with the message that SS is on the road and you have the unique oppotunity to engage her for xyz. Even small clubs w/ limited finances could possible offer a night or two in a club members home plus gas money and her meals while she's there. For larger clubs, if there's not a club member she can stay with, find and pay for a suite motel ( Many are cheaper than motel 6 and come with meals), buy her  meals and reimburse gas money and pay her an honarium.

Once we establish this then it should be safer for Shelly to be able to say where she is traveling because she will be going from one group of GSD people to the next which should afford her some protection. Once we can plan ahead a little by knowing where her next stop is we can look at other opportunities and ways to help. Perhaps someone has a rental or a vacation cabin that she could use for a short respite. You could contact local petstores and get them to donate some dog food. All you have to say it that a long time GSD person who was badly affected by the economy is trying to get back to family and familiar turf and the GSD world is trying to help and wouldn't they like to also. See if you can find out who the Royal Canin rep is and bend their arm. Once you know she's coming line up some local resources for her ( PM me and I'll make suggestions)  and we have another way of forwarding money, costco cards and gift cards to her which saves fees.

For clubs back East where it's unlikely she will be traveling, you can still help. At a club meeting and/or the next show, trial etc. have a 50/50 raffle but instead of the 2nd 50 going to the club - send it to Shelley AND see if you can get the winner to donate some of his windfall also. A trick that works well at shows is to pick the club member with the longest arm and have them sell tickets. Three for a buck or an arms length for 5. People sucker for an arms length esp if you have someone with really long arms.

Finally, Shelley for when you do make it to California. I can offer you some help in the furniture department. I have extra beds, kitchen table, computer desk, bureaus and I believe a leather couch etc etc that I can offer and will find a way to get them to you. The beds are new and decent. The rest a bit of old relative, early attic but all in good shape and not unattractive.

I think you will find that many of us in our life have been given a helping hand when it was really needed and if we can we want to do the same for another. So don't be afraid to ask for what you need. There is a light at the end of the tunnel just keep looking for it and hold tight to T and the crew, they will get you thru it. Good luck and God Bless.  Beth  PS I also sent you a PM

Also, you don't need to be in Pa to have your stuff saved. I managed to get free of my ex, legally, from Hawai'i (he was in NJ). Now it wasn't neat or pretty, & I lost a lot....(& I was dirt poor when I did it!) but I managed to find someone to go to my house with the court order my lawyer obtained & remove, with the sheriff standing by, the stuff I valued most- that was indisputably mine. It's actually easier to get it done from a distance if you have someone on the Pa end to act as intermediary. Once you're settled someplace, you can work again, & as cash begins to trickle in, the wheels of the legal system begin to turn, the more cash you can grease them with, the better off you'll be. But you'll need a stable income, & for that you'll need a stable living arrangement. First things first. You always said I was good at organizing things, so here's a plan of action.
1) Get your self settled somewhere.
2) Get a job
3) Find a good home for you & the furry family
4) Start the legal stuff
You can't function & provide for the kids if you're a worried frazzle, living out of a suitcase & a van. Get your self grounded again first. These are modern times, my dear, every where else, if not here! Faxes & modems & jet planes, if needed, can bring you back for any necessary appearances. Take care of yourself & the dogs first, everything else will follow.
And I'm still here, I can find the time to act on your behalf here if you get the needed paperwork.
I ain't afraid of no 'G'host!  jackie harris

I think these helpful plans are what you need, Shelley.

I'll add my two cents. Since you are accepting donations, I'll give you my advice on philanthropy. I think you need to set a funding amount for your two main projects,

1. Escape to CA: gas, food, lodging, tolls, dogs, etc.

2. Lawyer

Some folk like myself, might want to contribute to one fund over the other, and it is always good to have a fixed number to prove due diligence.

There isn't anything underground about this board, believe me. LOL He's got somebody monitoring it, bet on it.
I will respnd more later. Time to do some dog stuff and I am out of clean clothes, Jonesing for COFFEE!

No way to know whether I have anything left at that house to save. For all I know everything I left is in cinders in the front yard and may have been for a month. Like I said, no way to know. I have no spies in Lehighton and I darned sure can't do a drive by.

Time to go out and feed my kids. Noodle keeps trying to climb into the water bucket with her dirty feet. silly bitch. Its cute, but it means changing/filling her water several times a day.

I am glad to have her, and her coherts in similar doggy-criminal activites, to make me laugh, piss me off, whatever.
Now if I could just teach one of them to do my roots with this haircolor on the sink...

Let them monitor it.  Maybe one of his buddies will let him know that people all over the world know what a jerk loser he is.  Maybe they will tell him that no one on here is taking up for him(except maybe Raymond) and we have nothing but profane comments to make about him.  Let them tell him that a few (maybe more) actually wish dire circumstances on him, yes me included.  You won't catch me weeping for any misfortune that may befall him.  Let him rot in his own hell, knowing he let a good woman get away.  Men like him deserve to swing from trees and I don't mean like the ape that he is!

Hang in there Shelley, things are looking up!

I paid his household bills online all these years because the man can't be bothered to clooect & open HIS mail (mine, yes. his no) let alone write a check, (IF he had ordered any when they ran out last winter...) buy a stamp, learn how to use a computer.
He took all the money out of his account(s), like I would steal it? Hell I would have done that a long time ago if I was going to do it at all. LOL
According to the messages on my cell phone v/m, me being the only contact the service providers have, he will be sitting in the dark in front of a snowy tv screen by the time he gets done knocking back the 2nd 6-pack with the Rat Pack at the hunt club tonight. Forget the shower. No electric = no well pump.

Ahhhhhhh. Too-o-o-o  Ba-a-a-d.
Wait till he finds out what a pain in the ass it is to get all that stuff turned back on once they shut it off, not to mention the expense.
Sorry. No reconnects on weekends.
Good enablers are SO hard to find these days.
ROTFLMAO

Oh, too rich!  He will be in dire straights soon then!  Too funny.  Sooner or later his ratpack is going to figure out what a sorry bastard he really is because he'll be whining to them and they'll find out that they are having to take care of him and do the things you did and it will get old in a hurry.  Unless of course he finds some poor unsuspecting woman and lures her with his lies.  That's only thing wrong with leaving him...you left him breathing! LOL  I'm a sick puppy!
