Prager

by Prager on 30 May 2016 - 09:05

troublelinx do not waste your time on VK.
His agenda has nothing to do with training. Same as his inane post about drinking. Dog needs to drink when thirsty and hot. Also in hot climate they do not necessarily drink they are mostly splashing their mouth in the cool water and even dunk their head in and under the cool water to cool down.

Prager please delete yr last post its irresponsible. Say what you want about me no prob but incorrect advice and actions in that vid re drinking can get someone's dog dead. Not everyone breeds hundreds of litters to risk their dog.

Curious  do you own a finished dog you bred and trained yourself?

Just curious cos all I have ever seen is dogs you started, dogs someone else has started and various other combinations.

I just thought someone who has bred and trained so many hundreds of dogs as you say there would be a finished superstar and several up and comers you know like staatsmach, Debbie zap., kim from canczech, balinabanov, Duke, Koo's tiek.....etc.

No biggie, just curious why a high volume puppy producer/ training facility chooses to keep such a low profile on the training circuit.

The purpose of the training session was to put a higher amount of pressure on the dog. This dog responded as was expected. Avoidance threshold was increased. Videos main purpose was to increase handler and decoy skill. The videos are for learning purposes only.  As a decoy I see what others may not if they are watching from the side lines and even more so from people with a doctorate in YouTube ing.

I try it once more, Prager, guess you didn´t read my post:

" I asked you before, but I got no answer - was the dog "Jet" trained exclusively with "your" training method? He looks like a IPO foundation trained dog, but I might be wrong, same, but not that much expressed, the dog "Odin" ( "green" prospect"?).
Would be helpful to know their age, too.
The sable one is "different"....

Just my observation out of 3 short clips, once again, I might be wrong, but for my own sake I´d really like to know. "

Last video, the dog is overheated....ever see heat exhaustion? So easy to prevent, causes lasting damage when created. Seems like night training would be beneficial in that climate.

Susie

Shadow the sable is from my breeding he is eastline. He is 3.5 ish, No sport training. Mostly all obedience training. Not much bitework started a little last year. He was placed as an entry level workingline, the softest dog from the litter. His owner has done well for him. Very pleased. His dam and her full brother both throw that deep bite, a genetic bite.

Nice progress Hans & Robert the decoy.

Thank you, Gigante.
That´s what I saw in your dog - I wonder about Jet and Odin...

FYI I have trained hundreds of dogs which were bred by me or oothers.  The dog's here are small example of trainig which I am doing currently.  All the dogs you see on the   videos here  were trained from scratch by me in  AlpineK9-Civil way of training using defaults, "porch" training, parallel training,AlpineK9 11 points routine ( Parkey system) and training from "calm" and scores of other techniques.

I trained: Odin from pup of 8 weeks after he arrived here  from  Jiri.

Chi Chi and Luv Luv are bred by me and are still in training and 100% of their training is done by me so far. Chi Chi is third generation pup born at AlpineK9.

Shadow ( excellent naturally type 1 dog with high drives bred by Gigante> Do not knw Gigante personally and we are not close friends , we are mostly friendly> I know of him and he knows of me.  ) Several months ago Shadow  started older had minimal basics in civil pp and obendience.  What you see here is s basically all trained under my guidance. Arrived here with Steve   as older dog w minimal obedience where relationship handler dog was not to my liking, where he leaked energy all over the place and some other problems . Steve was inconsistent  with no solid principals in training and poor timing   and some other problems. Now he is very competent handler  who understands really well training principles and knows how to employ them better and better. Steve is a humble student with open mind and is a sponge for knowledge witch is paying off really nicely.    During protection Shadow  proved to be type one dog but his defense  and prey drive were so strong that if  he would not get his bite he would bite leaves on the ground anything - with anger and frustration. I started program of calming the dog down.  There were sessions where we often besides calming ( based on Temple Granding principle)   did nothing else.   Slow is fast.  If the dog calmed down we rewarded his brain for calm state of mind by civil agitation and protection  work a'la AlpineK9 civil.  The leaking was caused by mismatch  of Steve's personality with Shadow's personality or to say it better misunderstandig of  Shadows action by Steve . There was nothing wrong with neither but mix was not good. Steve trusted me fully and followed my instruction to a T. Instructions were not build on cookie cutter training but was custom designed to follow and going along with the dog.  Soon results arrived. Protection was designed around 100%civil work as I teach it. Now the dog is effective civil PP dog whose training is tailored around Steve's needs,.. but is not finished ( no dog ever is) .

Jet was sold as single purposed detection dog.  No sport training no papers. Arrived I believe at 14 mo.  He got here with food based obedience with hunt driver after various objects. No PP training. Searching for objects and had no protection sold to TX LE where no protection of any kind was trained since it was against their desire and policy.  As a detection dog single purpose prospect after 6 +/- mo he "developed" problem where he would not go and work next to wall. Go figure,... I do not know why. I believe that it was environmental. I have videos from prior to the sale  where he did not have such issues. Dog was exchanged.Jet came back here and I started training him AlpineK9 11 point routine to  be  true PP civil dog . Up to that point there was no protection training done on this dog. I started to train the dog protection AlpineK9 way which is antithesis to sportism. stated to work on him to established civi defaults. Then his current owner  bought Jet.  problem with walls was remedied and is non existent.  He went and competed in IDP  and got IDP1 ( IronDogProtection).

Also competed in IDP2 and got top score but would not out thus was DQ. Jet is continuously trained by me as a personal protection civil dog .

Nice work Hans, looks like the structure for handler and dog is paying off very well. One without the other ineffective Thumbs Up
