So a muzzle is the ultimate test to you guys?

To hell with bite quality developed to be scrutinized by a judge. Just muzzle a dog and have him attack a guy in a T-shirt, that's it.

All those suckers putting in hundred of training hours, could have done it in the back yard and a muzzle in 5 minutes, genius.

Of course there is no way to condition a weak dog to attack in a muzzle, impossible right?

VK read my post again, and you see I write that dogs can be conditioned bumping a bitingpillow, hundreds of traininghours dont change the intentions and balance of drives and courage a dog has, but they can change what it looks like at the end
if someone claims they have dog that will bite for real , putting him a muzzle on and work without equipment will give you a good idea what the dog will do by nature

So this is impossible to cheat/precondition??

by duke1965 on 03 May 2016 - 07:05

cheat no, precondition yes thousand of good boxers can train how much they want but will never become Mike Tyson, becouse genetics dont allow themWink Smile

doesnot mean they are no good boxers

??????

Muzzle work used to be natural progression in bite work training in the past. Not so much anymore. I still feel muzzle work shows the truest sense of confident fight in the dog.
I also feel that a naturally civil dog can be started either on sleeve or man and end up with same result with good training. Because the default genetic component of naturally be civil is stronger than the default position of which is started on first. That is what is occurring when naturally civil dog that is started on sleeve has to be trained to carry and hold sleeve, because they will drop sleeve and focus on man naturally. There are always exceptions, but I have seen this enough to know its real.

Gustav can you explain " the default genetic component of naturally be civil is stronger than the default position ".
