Bucko

Beautiful pic, beautiful dog.

I am trying the breathe right strips -- work for a short while, but this is going to be expensive.  2-3 per ear per day at 50 cents a strip, because they get shaken or scratched out every few hours.

KEEP trying Mike.  I just got my girls ears up and she is 8months old!  I did the wrapping thing though.  First I glued in a piece of pipe insulation (with skin bond type glue) then wrapped up the ear with paper tape.  Had to do both ears (only one was flopped) so I could make a bridge of tape around both ears to prop up the bad one.  Did this for, I'd say almost 2 months!  It didn't bother her at all!  I then just glued in a small oval shaped piece of thick mole skin to prop it up for around 2 weeks.  I have to admit, I got tired of the skin bond coming unstuck so frequently, so panicked and went and bought a can of spray glue.  Tested it on myself, no reaction, so glued those ovals right in there and they stayed longer.  Ears have been up without help for 2 weeks now!!  Woo Hoo, I was worried for a while though.  But keep at it.  I can tell by your pic that it will come up.  It's just big like my girls is.  Get some different glue!  ;)

thanks for the words of encouagement.. and what i did was to go  to local pharmacy .. and got a stronger breathable tape.. which is better  and lasts longer than the band aid idea..like 1  nasal strip and a lil tape seems to last 2-3 days.. and he doesnt mind at all.. layts there while i getit just right.. and doesnt even scratch it.. funny when just the strip by itslef with no tape he would shake it out..keep me informed on how long they stay up... and thanks to all for advice/info

I dont know why a ll of you are taping ears...these look like big boned big dogs and they are thru growing and the ears will come up by themselves    feed lots of bones and chewing treats and leave the ear to come up in their own time...why rush the point...unles yuou have moms and dads and grandparents with floppy ears...

these dogs calcium went to their feet and their teeth and are probably cutting teeth....the ears will come up when the jaw .ligaments strengthen and u may tape them wrong and they will be crooked...

Had a vet in Tyler tell one of my pups owner....those ears need taping they will never stand   she was crying when she left hif office and I almost went to jail.....

He was 6 mos old and his ear are the biggest and greatest....hes not the first vet to pull that crap either...he told him he would havae bad hips because he sat sideways ...the lazy sit.....and to top it off he toold her he had mites in his ears......and the bill was 239.00  all for a rabies shot.......he wanted her to start the pup on Glucosamine Chrondithe and I yelled to the top of MOunt Killamenjada and said if you touch that pup , you office will cease to exist , when my truck comes right thru the front door.....today and a month later  dog was fine   he had no mites he doesnt havae hd  and his ears are like arrows....and if we ever see him, the vet in public,,,,,Dr. Pepper will take a bite out of his rouyal hind end.....with me on the other end of the long line.....

and she left with a rabies shot and ear cleaner...after I got off phone...Six vets here havae told pup owners the same thing  you need to tape this dogs ears   and the biggest pups are gonna take up to 9 and 10 months sometimes according towhat you are feeding the pup     get a raw meat handy every day and let the dog chew.....Here is a pic of EARS   DR>PEPPER > STYLE        THAT WERE NEVER GONNA STAND...
