How to....your suggestions

Hello fellow forum members.

I have a coated male GSD puppy who will be soon turning 22 week old. Our family loves him big time, and that is the most important thing.
He is an outside dog who does not like being inside. He is affectionate, submissive, rather on the mellower side - which is just fine for me.
He is not afraid of anything - no problems with different surfaces, loud noises, other dogs (big or small), people, kids, etc. so far.
His current weight is around 42.5 pounds.

For some strange reason my puppy will (if approximately warmer than 60F/16c outside) flip over his water bowl with his front feet in a "digging like" motion. I have to mention that his outside kennel is not in a direct sunlight and that he has more than enough shade there. This is somewhat problematic as in some cases nobody is home for 4-5 hours to add water to his bowl. I am using the snap-on water/feeding bowls from "Midwest".
  1. How do you prevent him from doing this - i.e. do you recommend any other water feeding "tools/gadgets"?

Also, I would like to somewhat "save" my garden grass hence I was wondering if anyone of you used product called "Dog Rocks". If so, what are you results with this natural product? In order for this product to work, it must continuously reside in his water. Hence him flipping the water bowl does not help in this situation either.

Kiddie pool. Sounds like he is looki g for someplace to go for a swim. My dogs love the kiddie pool. Hard plastic one.

Hello and Welcome,
I say kiddie pool as well. GSD's love water, at least every one I've had has.
If you do not have an area large enough for a kiddie pool, I would suggest getting an automatic horse waterer. This type of waterer refills when it gets below a certain level. They make some that have a quick garden hose connection and you can permanently attach them to a wall or fence rail.
