God bless the German Shepherd Dog. It takes a lickin' and keep on tickin'. Breed is bigger than politics

Nobody on earth is forced to become a member of (WU)SV, but, funnily enough, almost all "breeders" of German Shepherd dogs try to be part of it in the beginning of their "career". As soon as they realize that paying membership dues isn´t enough, but they have to follow the rules, they start to blame the club.

A couple of months ago I tried to translate and explain the letter to WDA, written by SV. US members of SV have been ( and still are ) GSDCA and USCA, not WDA on its own. I hope the members of the different clubs are able to solve this problem, it´s up to you. IPO sport in your country is a marginal sport - and all this homemade trouble is not going to better the status quo.

We do have our problems, too, but we don´t have the AKC Devil Smile -
That said, we are not able to circumvent the rules by using another registry, only because we don´t like the rules...
We need to live with each other, I guess this helps a lot.

Does this make sense?

Dear Susie; Your english is good enough to tell that some posters do not like to ''make sense''. God Bless the German Shepherd Dog.

... I train primarily for schutzhund because that is what my dogs were bred for down through many generations. ... I am a newbie trainer so I want to master the oldest of the GSD sports which is schutzhund.                                                                                                                http://web.archive.org/web/20120803024730/http://www.hardkandeek9.com/page3.php

of course, there are well established links between failure, blame externalization, bitterness, sickness, and even mental disorders (e.g,: 'Embitterment: Social, psychological, and clinical perspective', 2011, M. Keep it on topic please, no personal spats please.

Over the years, I have been a member of GSDCA, USca and WDA, as well as other breed specific clubs. It was always my choice and there was much enjoyment from participating in events/training etc. I was never forced to do anything and seldom agreed 100% with every thing in every club. But maybe that's just me. :)

As for the SV, sure there are warts. But I can find any kind of GSD I want within the system and I'm pretty sure anyone else can too.

One thing that is always true, If I find myself looking out the window and thinking everything out there "sucks" maybe it's time I started looking in.

I have a theory, and feel free to debunk it, that the (WU)SV will never fully embrace the GSDCA primarily due to their breeding policy conflict. Even though I acknowledge the flaws with 'midnight' trialing and 'fake titling' an SV registration has more value to me than any AKC paperwork. But on the upside of all of this, now the AKC is recognizing and supporting biting sports and this can only be good for all involved

If anyone thinks the USCA, AWDF, SV, GSDCA and GSDCA-WDA are about the dogs then you are an idiot and must believe that NASCAR is about the cars and not the drivers. All of these organizations use the dogs to justify their existence, make money and stroke their own and their member's egos. The dogs are just a means to a very predictable end. That is what sucks!! The previously mentioned dog organizations all cheat and lie to stroke their own egos and the dogs are just pawns in their little games. Dogs with a title are no better than ones without based on biology except the owners can claim some superiority based on a club or organizational membership based on human folly and ego. This is why all these organizations are withering away and none too soon.
