Hi everyone, Does anyone out there know for sure, the effects of stretching on a pregnant bitch? If it caurses "absortion" of the puppies or "inhibits" foetal development during pregnancy. I've had personal expiriences whereby heavingly stretching bitches had lost their pregnancies(either by absorbtions or false pregnancies), and whelped only when when "stretching" disallowed. I don't have any scientific proof from any external source other than my naivity. My bitch had been mated and i want to see whether i should prevent her stretching or keep to her "foundamental animal right" which includes stretching. Feed backs if any knowledge or expirience.

Mine stretch and there's never been a problem.

Maybe yours were stretching only after they were loosing their puppies....?

I don't force them to exercise, but I do encourage it by taking them for walks and offering to play fetch or other games. Typically they run, play fetch, and some even want to swim up until the last week or so. As whelping draws near they tend to slow down.

Keeping a bitch in the best possible condition is important, she needs all her muscles to push the puppies out.

4 usually exercise too, walking and even running in early pregnancy. What i mean about the "stretching" is that i always see her stretching when she wakes-up, which is normal, but the problem's that she stretches all the time(whenever she's pregnant) and she does it seriously, rigidly and spends plenty of seconds as against when she wasn't pregnant. Just to observe, i'd prevented and also allowed it. The result: i see a relationship between either "loosing" the pregnancy by foetal absorbtion, false pregnancies of just "nothing". On the other hand, all the times i've had pups are when "stretchings" are disallowed. This is a fact my friends kind of agree. However, i'd seen many bitches stretching "minimally" or "normally" and still whelped. I asked to know if there related expiriences, as i've equally see some bitches "tied" at the waist in pregnancy. Why were they tied?
