You are right. Sorry.

I would like to explain to interested parties what hundreds if not thousands of breeders successfully do all over the world. But I got derailed.

Jesse, 6 Sep: Oh no.
Sunday last half of a meal...today is ...Thursday. Heartbreaking.
Hope Splash rallies again. Will you keep us posted?
Will keep you guys in my thoughts.

Update on Splash; very good news, he began eating Friday!

Friday morning I noticed he had eaten a little of his feed from the day before. So I mixed molasses in his feed and hand fed him to get him started. He is eating with vigor and has calmed down. he's not walking endlessly and is resting. Five days he went without eating while he grieved for Beryl, his companion since I retired him, the dogs and two horses, 15 years ago.

Took this picture of Splash a few minutes ago. It rained last night so he's a little muddy. Put a couple bails of pine shavings under him....he is eating well and doing fine! :-) he still looks good for a 34 year old!

This is when he was 18 yr old for comparison....

Sorry for off topic, this is last post on Splash.

well, there is probably not 1 person in thousands who has done what you have done for Splash. most folks just discard animals when they get old.

sometimes there is room for off topic and to me this is certainly one of those times. Splash is very fortunate to have landed where he did, else he would have long ago ended up in a can of Alpo.

good luck and long life to you both.

Totally agree with Rik. Joanro….I have always enjoyed reading your posts....and learning from them. Thank you Jill

I am so glad to hear that Joan!

Whew, I bet you were biting your nails too. One doesn't want to lose that window of opportunity to get them to start eating again.
I was going to pm you to ask about Splash, so thank you for the update. And for the pics. He does still look good. And the dogs looked happy too!
I‘m sure lots of folks were following the thread.

Sometimes it's hard for us to realize how some animals can grieve for the loss of their companions, but Splash is a good reminder of how they suffer loss, much like we do, without being anthropomorphic. It is heartening to hear Splash is eating again, and settling down in his new paddock area. Hopefully he will take some solace from his nearby horse buddies now.

So... back to the original question... is there an efficient/easy way to find Czech 4th Line and 2nd Line studs in U.S. or Canada?

Or do I have to start with the line's foundation dog (or a known dog in the line) and trace all the progeny to the present and then figure out where each dog is?

Thank you.
