Congratulation to Philip Eram one of my best friends in ''Dog World'' and also Canadian and American breeders for the results at the BSZS 2017. Here is a proof that We in North America don't need to import average or under average dogs from Europe to improve the breed. Believe me We have many excellent dogs here which unfortunately can't be shown at BSZS because of distance and monetary reasons. We have some excellent breeders here which are producing consistently high quality dogs, either show line or working line. Philip keep up the good work and rest of you guys too.

You are so right old shatterhand, there was trust and cooperation between a few North American kennels for a couple of generations on that one. Phillip knocked that one out of the park. I shake my head when I read about someone who thinks they have to import to get good dogs, I see them here all the time.

I personally know of several good American breeders of West German show lines. I am entirely comfortable to refer people to any of them. They trial and show their dogs. They choose good stud dogs for their females, their prices are reasonable, and the puppies come to you healthy and well-adjusted.

German imports may be the Holy Grail, but there are numerous top breeders outside of Germany, and American breeders often avail themselves of titled, well-bred dogs so their USA-born litters leave little left to be desired.

Always do your research, and look for third party references. You will have a healthy, happy companion that lives with you for 13+ years so it pays to first consider the source and not be too cheap. Paying a lot does not always guarantee quality. Expecting a bargain may not do you any favors either.
