I will tell you that although some store franchises allow pets...Not all of the individual stores will...
I know most "Lowe's" do allow pets...But I took a puppy (GSD) to a Lowe's...left the puppy in the trailer...went inside to ask before I took him in...They told me "Yes" it was ok...then as I'm walking down one of the aisles in the store someone from the store came running down to me telling me that they didn't allow it...I told them I had already checked and was told it was ok...They didn't want me there with my puppy...
I didn't appreciate the way I was treated...Either YES or NO...but don't be wishy-washy...

Bob that reminds me of when I used to live in another city. I took dogs in all the time, did training in Lowes with dogs. The workers there would pet the dogs I had for that matter. I wasn't there for about a 6 month time frame at one point. Came back, had a personal dog who was the friendliest dog in the world, very calm too... They told me they don't allow dogs there. The woman wasn't very nice about it either(she was new, and I didn't recognize any of the workers there anymore). The dog who always wanted to "shake hands" with everyone, wouldn't even look at the woman......that told me enough.

I would only say...No matter where you take your dogs...Always ask before doing so...Even then you can meet some resistance...The one thing we certainly don't want is negative feedback...

Most stores that i go into other than grocery stores and restaurants my dog is allowed in. But maybe it's because she is so small and I can carry her through the store.
