Mike D

Hi Jonathon,

I live in Altamont. train near Neoga. (Jonathon will know where those are)

If you would like to visit an IPO club you are welcome to come watch us train.

I will tell you that nobody in our club has GSD puppies for sale, so no one will be making a sales pitch to you.

2 breeders I have no affiliation with that I would recommend in your puppy search are Sportwaffen (Nate Harves in the Indy area) and Von Eisenherz who posts on this site some as jenni78.

Good luck,

Mike

What does a female aggressive, nerve bag, that spins and paces have to do with ball drive? So the one dog, that you said nothing about drive about, and that means IPO dogs are hard to live with?

Maybe if you were a better friend you should've helped your friend pick a better breeding...the dog you described...no one I know in IPO would deal with, no matter how many hours in a day they had to train the dog. Your "club trainer" was just trying to make your friend feel better. The last thing that people want is a dog they have to manage just for 10 minutes out on the field. Neurotic behavior is highly frowned upon. Sorry to burst your bubble but the majority of IPO dogs live in the house and are perfectly behaved house pets, it's another myth continued by the uninformed and more than likely unsuccessful that in order to have a great IPO dog, they have to live in a kennel and are bound to come with baggage that makes them unable to live in the house. That way, when those people don't achieve something, they have "house pet" as a reason to fall back on.

You have no idea how wrong you are Bavarian Wagon, so I am just going to let this drop, because you seem to be looking for an argument. I will never forget the fight the handler had with the trainer when he was insisting this was the PERFECT IPO dog, and she should forget about her showline male and just focus on this one.

I had no input into picking the dog (was never given the opportunity). She seemed fine at first, though. My friend tried to cover up the aggression toward other females.
