Hello everyone, I will quickly tell about myself and how I came to own a GSD. I am Stacy Lovett from Tennessee. I am a big time animal lover and cant stand the thought of people hurting animals. My husbands' neice had Duchess(My GSD's name). Well anyways I found out that they were abusing and starving her death. I basically said that I would take her if they were going to starve her, or they could explain what they were doing to the animal to the law. So they gave her to me. Well I did call the law after I took her to the vet. They got fined and he got 30 days in jail. Anyways the judge gave me ownership of her, since I did nurse her back to health in the 3 months that it took for them to go to court. Anyways I had no idea that she was actually a Registered GSD. Just found that out after having her for 3 years now. I just got my GSD'S pedigree, and I was told that I could find more of her pedigree her on this site. Which I have, but I have a few questions about the differences that I have noticed between the 2. 1) Some of the dogs names start different then the pedigree that I have. They start with "V" or "SG" Is that actually part of the name or is it a title that they won or something? 2) Some of the dogs have a different register number. On my pedigree they have either a DDR or NHSB and some SZ. And on this site, they are all SZ, So my questions is can dogs be registered a few different times with /or in different countries? 3) This maybe a stupid question for some of you. But what do the letters and numbers mean above their names. I will list all that I can find. And if you can give me the meaning of them or what they are for. I am new to this and have no idea what anything means. SchH1, SCHH2, SCHH3 IPO1, IPO2,IPO3 DNA#V162211 KNPV1, KNPV PH1, VH1 VH2 VH3 FH FH3 IP3 SCHH3 ( V - DDR-MS ) SCHH3 (V-BSP) INT DDR SGR 64/65/66 ZH2 ZFH DDR SGR 73/74/76 DDR SGR 1971-72, DDR SGR 1969, PSH1 DH PH.1 I think that is all of them that are on my GSD'S pedigree. That is all the questions that I have for now. Thanks everyone Stacy Lovett

SchH 1,2 & 3 are titles given to a dog which has passed a test in tracking, obedience & protection. SchH stands for schutzhund or protection dog. 3 is the hardest examination. IPO stands for International Prufungs Ordung (International Examination Procedure) and this is a test and title essentially the same as the SchH tests. There are small differences. The reference to DNA means that some organization, probably the SV has it on file, usually it should say DNA gepruft (tested) KNPV refers to Royal Dutch Police Club examinations VH is a Dutch title roughtly equivalent to a SchH title PH is a German title meaning Police Dog (Polizeihung) FH or Fartenhund is a title given to dogs who pass an advanced tracking examination. There are levels IP is the same as IPO V is a show rating, vorzuglich, meaning excellent. DDR stands for Deutche Demokratic Republic, the former East Germany BSP stands for Bundessiegerprufung which is the national schutzhund championship competition of Germany. SGR stands for Sieger or grand champion, the numbers after that are the years the dog was the sieger. ZH stands for Zollhund or customs dog ZFH stands for Zollfahrtenhund or customs tracking dog, these are German titles. I do not know what PSH means, there is a SPH, a Danish title the rough equivalent of an FH and there is the German title PSP which means Police Guard Dog VA is the top show rating and stands for Vorzuglich Auslese or Excellent Select.

WOW, thats quite a diverse pedigree you have there! I would be curious just to see whom that is. Jerry

All this is from Duchesss' mothers side of the family. Her name is Anna Von Dreisterhof. From what I can understand from the pedigree that I got, it says there are dogs from East and West Germany, Netherlands and Belgium. I do not know if this is good or bad? And "Thank you" Klossbruhe and Jerry for answering my post. All this is new to me. Thanks aain

I have no problem with you sending me your training questions via private e-mail. Other people have already done it. I don't know exactly how they find my address but they do. I guess there must be a way to do this on the website. I don't want to put it into this reply but if you are having problems figuring out how to do that, then send me another message telling me this and how to e-mail you and I will then send you my e-mail address
