anyone out there familiar with what amount/percent of pups eventually get titled in some sort of activity in Europe vs this side of the pond? I have a hunch it is higher in Europe, but curious as to whether the difference is small or considerable.

Could you clarify your request?  Do you mean American show lines or do you mean American born and raised West German showlines?  Very very different kettle of fish.  Even without knowing your specifics.  Europe will have a higher number of titled animals simply due to the SV requirement that GSD MUST be titled before being bred.  Does anyone know if Germany has a "hinky" registration system something like a Continenetal Kennel Club.  You know totally fake papers.  Always been curious but never asked.....

I've heard of fake papers too, but like many things, will be difficult to prove.

My curiosity is more aimed towards WL's. If you have a litter in europe, out of 10 pups how many will get titled? If the sire and dam are later moved to the states, and there is a repeat litter, how many of those 10 pups would get titled? Yes yes, there are many variables, but overall, seems to be higher in Europe. Wonder if the gap is a big one or not.

Gusmanda, very very few dogs are titled in the states in comparison to the number in Europe.  This is due to the breeding requirement.  Here you just toss two dogs together and make puppies.  WL dogs are often sold to police departments etc so again the are not titled ( although there are many Leo's who title for fun and their own satisfaction).  Very few GSD even get a CD and even fewer still get a CDX.

Plus, the proximity of clubs, good helpers, good club members.

Why do you think that people send over dogs to be trained and titled, both showlines and working lines?
