"The AD is to be done with the dog on the right side of the bike according to the rules as well." Yes, it's in the rules. I have never seen this required by a judge. However. The k-9 cruiser may be mounted only on the left side. I know of one dog who passed the AD with the handler running barefoot on a beach! Louise Penery

The rules state: "The handler will accompany the dog only (the word is boldfaced) on a bicycle." There are no provisions for running with the dog. Obviously not all judges follow the rules, q.v. Bogdan Sergo as of late.

Springer is basically a European product which you can attach to the center rod of any bicycle and take your shepherds to a run. It is available in US but I could not find store which takes International orders online thru credit card. If someone can help that will be great Any store which is selling over the net to international clients. You can see the picture of it on www.petsmart.com/dogs regaards Vikram

Hi All In Australia we can't use springers or any other devices when doing the AD (or ET as it is called here). The lead must be held in the left hand. Does anyone have any tips on working a dog on just a lead? Would it be best to train with a springer and only not use it in the actually ET? Or would the dog feel the difference?

I took a really bad spill with my one dog and the springer as well. Contrary to belief the dog can pull the bike from under you. The dog can also jump over the tire...although perhaps I had the lead too long. I still like it very much and use it.
