Sunsilver

Star turned 10 on January 11th. Today, we did a 6 km. walk with my friend and her male Airedale terrier. Star is madly in love with him, and if he falls behind, she barks at him until he catches up!

At the end of the 6 km, she was still strutting out, and barking at me to beg me to throw a stick for her. I have some camera footage from the start of our walk, and will try to edit it and post to YouTube. Not sure my tech skills are quite up to that, though!

She can't quite keep up with Eska, who is rocket fast, but she sure tries!  Teeth Smile

Ookay, I think this worked!  Ah, yeah, we're good...

Need more practise with doing videos. It took me quite awhile to figure it all out.

Aww...she looks great, SS! She's so good with Eska, too...that's a blessing!

Happy birthday, Star, and may you have many, many more happy and healthy ones ahead!

I'm very grateful that she's doing so well at this age. You hear of so many showline GSDs dropping dead at 10, or even before that.

The only one of my shepherds that hasn't made it to 10 was the very first one, and she got off to a very bad start in life, and was probably chronically malnourished until I adopted her at age 5.

Many Happy Returns, Star !Cake

Even though (S/L or not) I am quite used to dogs living into 'double figures' (guess I am lucky that way Tongue Smile), it's always great to hear about another one.  And she does look well on it, as your video shows.

She's a sassy bitch, too. At one point, Bill (the Airedale) crashed into her at full speed, hitting her broadside, hard enough to make her yelp. She got mad at him, and she and Eska ganged up on him and put him in his place.

Hard to describe what they did - there was no growling or bared teeth involved, but they definitely let him know he should watch his step!
