Rivalt Kennels

by Rivalt Kennels on 11 March 2021 - 10:03

Hi, not new to breeding, but I am new to this site. I already noticed I can only pick one breed for my kennel registration, which is fine, but in registering dogs I have two questions. 1)can I register my dog if I don't have the parents information and 2)am I able to write in the breed manually as I already saw a post on unlisted breed, and American Hunt Terrier is not a well known breed yet (even though we have a club here and physical club papers are available). I'm just trying to understand and navigate this new system, which is a little confusing to me. Thank you, and nice to be here and meeting you all.

Hi there and welcome to our site/forums. To answer you questions, no you can not write/type in an unlisted breed and below is from our Tutorial forum written by one of our Pedigree Admin, hope it helps........

To contact an admin for help in creating, changing, adding to or deleting a pedigree and/or photo.   Anything pedigree or related to a pedigree please contact

GSDHeritage - all breeds - Speciality is AKC dogs and White Shepherds/ Berger Blanc Suisse

Fantom76 - all breeds - Speciality is foreign registered dogs

Many members are only entering names of dogs. If dogs are entered with no kennel name, no date of birth, no registration number the Admin will consider deleting them. Dogs entered with list of names like Duke and Anna and Dallas etc.. TOTALLY USELESS to anyone but the member who entered them SO....... we admins while still being helpful, will stop sending PM's to you to ask you to enter the required data.

We may just delete the dogs who do not have the required information... especially those with no kennel name as they are impossible to identify. There are not many Ped Admins to cover 249 breeds, so you may escape us checking your entries, but then again .... you may not.

YOU MUST ENTER THE DOGS DATE OF BIRTH, BREED BOOK AND REGISTRATION NUMBER using the English Alphabet (German Alphabet is also allowed). (we know that very young pups may not yet have a registration number - hence the importance of the date of birth and of course older ancestors from second generation on may not have the required information available.) Breed book is the initials of the organization with whom the dog is registered ie: AKC, SZ, LOI, LOSH...etc.

If you do not want to enter this information, then do not enter your dog in PDB. PDB is for registered purebred dogs and is here to help breeders learn about potential dogs to be used in their breeding programs and for regular members to learn more about their dogs ancestry..

So ever wonder why your dog entry disappears

Thanks I appreciate it. It would be nice to track my terrier line here, but I can still do it on my computer database. I don't have all the parents info for every dog I have, but I do have the info for my personally bred dogs, so I suppose I can start there. I guess every line starts somewhere and that not all info will be available. I certainly wasn't planning on not entering info on all dogs on purpose, just the ones I genuinely don't have info for, that weren't even my dogs, but the parents of a dog I owned. It does help to clear up some confusion for me, though I do hope that those few dogs wouldn't be deleted, since I feel it valuable to trace a pedigree back as far as one can.
