Yikes. Could have saved some beagle lives by just going along with the harmless practice of vaccinating every three years to be safe. Rabies is a horrible disease, why take chances? Would people really rather dogs die for this purpose(research) than just...vaccinate their G_D dogs?

Don't answer that. Sigh.

Though animal testing is sad and difficult for some of us to comprehend, it holds an important roll.
I back this study 100% because I've nearly lost a couple dogs to vaccines and over-vaccinating. Subjecting a companion animal to a vaccine that they are already protected from is extremely dangerous. My dog received his first rabies booster at a year old. I conducted Titer tests on him after that. He showed protected for 5 years. He is still protected from parvo and distemper and the last time he received the vaccines were his 10 wk puppy booster. He's 6.5 yrs old now. The study makes perfect sense to further protect our beloved animals. Those beagles gave their life to save MANY others from being over-vaccinated.
