Did a google search and only fond a few ones, don't like the look, although I like the breed a lot, am not a expert on the subject... (far from that)

but I don't know if you can tell by looking at them when very young.
It may give you a clue, Terri, that one parent is herself long coated
because that will mean she carries the genetic factor(s) and can
produce it in her offspring; but mated to a standard coated sire, it
could go either way !

If the mode of inheritance is the same as it is in GSD's, both parents must carry the longcoat gene. I think more experienced Rottie breeders can recognize a longcoated pup at a very early age, so you should tell the breeder you are not interested in a pup with a long coat.
