Yes, but I wish I had gotten him as a pup.

He goes to the woods, sucking in all the scents that are new to him...the horses...acts like they are every day animals in his life.
First time I took him with me when I was feeding, he layed down at the pasture gate and waited for me while I carried the feed in for the two old horses...when I finished and came out, he resumed his exploring.

He sounds like a very nice dog, hope he reproduces himself and complements the girls for you.
