I hope this practice of calling pups (in the adds) males and females, will stop. They are neither males nor females before their puberty. Those adds are missleading, just a time vasters (anoying as repeating adds!). Steve

What should we call them? Boys and Girls? People tend to want to know the sex of the pups they are buying. Lets not get petty.

If you want to be technical....aren't they called dogs and bitches after a certain age? I actually sort of like the idea of purchasing a pup and then seeing what sex they ship me!

by EchoMeadows on 20 October 2006 - 23:10

4-pack, I nearly fell over after reading that ! ROFL. Steve, Seriously what would you have us call them ? It's common to call young progeny of any species **Male/Female applies to many species **Heifer/Bull...Cow/Bull applies to cattle **Buck/Doe applies to Sheep, Goats, Rabbits,Deer, and probably some I've missed. **Filly/Colt ( < youngsters)...( > adults)Mare/Stallion applies to horses Hen/Rooster applies to chickens Hen/Drake applies to ducks Goose/Gander applies to Geese. Bitch typically refers to breeding age "female" dog. Dog/Stud typically refers to breeding age "male" dog. What would we call pups to reffer to sex ? Please do enlighten I would love the answer to this one, if it's 4pack's innie or outie, think I'll be passing on adding that to my ads, No offense 4pack but I don't think my potential lookers would understand the meaning of innie or outie in refference to male or female. LOL
