Just to be crystal clear.

The breeders links posted on this thread by others have nothing to do with my issue. The pup Yarden is not the animal in question. I've told the mod this and asked him to remove those links lest he cast negativity over an innocent breeder but he refused.

Anyway, not my issue.

Have a good evening everyone.

So kids, what have we all learned today?

I learned that people should take more than 2 weeks to research a breeder, especially when purchasing a pup that will be shipped at an older age (in a possible 'fear period stage'), sight unseen, from a different continent.  What Smile

I think the shipping time of 48 hrs during a sensitive time in development, could have played a significant role in this pup's temperament issues. I feel bad for the pup to have gone through that.

Have hope Celt. I got an older puppy from a kennel. I went to see the pup and she was ok on her own turf..so going to see them in person isn't always going to give you a true reading...at any rate, this poor puppy was a complete wreck her first year with me. I almost rehomed her several times in my frustration. This dog literally jumped through a window the first time I turned a vacuum cleaner on. Time went on and i worked with her and I guess she learned to trust me as a good pack leader and her fear reactions became less and less until one day they were just gone. She is now 12 years old and has earned many many performance titles. Every skill had to taught with immense patience but it did pay off.
This won't help with her coat or tail issues but she may have something to offer you yet.
Best of luck!

Hi Celtic
Unfortunatly the Pedigree database is littered with this sort of thing ,and I see there has been advise about socialization etc but not an answer to your question--- What would we do in this situation ?
Personally I wouldnt get in that situation .What the kennel has done is illeagal ,by law they have to give you a contract every kennel in every EU country has to do so
Contact the breeder and demand a contract both by email and registered post
contact your kennel club [ a Spanish fci Kennel has refused to give you a contract ]
Contact the RSCE registered post again,- been refused a contract
Contact the Spanish breed club registered post -been refused a contract
First of all try and get a contract
Unfortunatly you have been naive in your dealings and it would seem you been taken advantage of
A point of note for future buyers is that you have the right to demand that a clause is inserted into the contract. stating that the contract is under your countries law and kennel clubs rules ,in your case Irish law and Irish kennel club
You have no contract from the kennel which is illeagal so I cant see why you cant go through the small claims court in Ireland [something you have to check out] the Kennel is forced to defend itself in Ireland . Common law is very different to Spanish civil law and a lot quicker. If you win ,the Irish Kennel club FCI and Spanish kennel club are obliged to support you
I hope that helps and good luck
Nick
