This is a 13 month male about 85lbs. Very fast athletic dog with very balanced drives and good attitude. Typical of the litter. I like him, what do you think?

was told by a few people to be a bit cautious with Urf's hips.

Thanks Melba, I was hoping someone would bring that up. Urf's hip score is the only black mark against him and the reason we did not breed Urf for two years after we purchased him. After going back through his pedigree for five generations about 64 dogs, the only A3 notch zugelassen hips were on Rru and Ben both titans of the breed. Ben, the sire of Grim, after he died of old age was surgically checked and found to have excellent hips I am told.
After contacting the owners of Urf's littermates and getting no bad hip reports. And contacting all the owners of Urf pups I could find, and I believe there are over 40 of them, I only could find 2 with bad hips. There may be more but usually if someone has a bad experience they are very vocal about it. Based on that Urf is way above the average of the breed for good hips.

Urf is a heavy boned massive beast of a dog that is difficult to keep under 100 pounds which would seem to predispose him for hip problems, but at almost 10 years old he is always judged to be about 5 by the people that watch him work.
At almost 9 years old in a group of over 12 dogs, with Mali's and Dutch Shepherds, Urf was judged to be the perfect police patrol dog. The statement made that Urf needed no additional training, he could go straight to the street.

Aside from Urf's imposing physical abilities the quality that people notice in whatever he is doing is his complete self confidence.
Hips are important, but it is easier to get good hips than the strong balanced drives that made these dogs famous.

Ok enough of the Urf commercial, but to summarize we have more confidence based on our investigations and Urf's physical abilities then in a X-ray taken years in the past.
X-rays may be important but performance is natures natural culling tool.

Thanks again Melba, I do appreciate your concern.

Melba, I ment Mithuna, and the dog in the past is Tru not Rru.
The pop ads got in the way of what I could see while I was typing.
