FYI....

Issuance of an AKC-Bescheinigung

An AKC-Bescheinigung (Export Certification) can only be issued for dogs that were imported directly from Germany to the U.S. If the dog was imported from another country than Germany, according to FCI regulations, the breed registry office of the WUSV member organization of this country must issue the AKC-Bescheinigung.

If the dog is not German bred (does not have German registration papers) but the previous owner resided in Germany, and the dog was imported from Germany to the U.S. a Bescheinigung can be issued. However, this is only possible if the dog is individually registered with the SV first. The additional fee for the individual registration is Euro 28.00. Please make sure that the dog is eligible for SV individual registration before you make the purchase.

In order to issue the Bescheinigung, proof of proper transfer of ownership is required. As proof of ownership the SV accepts either the original pedigree or a notarized copy of the pedigree.

The date of purchase as well as the name and complete mailing address of the American owner must be listed in the transfer of ownership section of the pedigree. Also, all previous owners must verify the sale of the dog by signing the pedigree.

Furthermore, the SV Office needs the complete mailing address of all previous owners in the U.S. This can be documented by submitting a copy of the AKC Registration Application Form. The documents must be mailed to the SV Office; faxed copies cannot be accepted.

The processing fee is Euro 15.50 per Bescheinigung plus an additional Euro 8.18 for postage. The easiest way to pay for this service is by Visa or MasterCard. Please submit the card number, the expiration date and the three digit security code on the back of the card.

Certification of stud certificates for AKC litter registration (certified Deckbescheinigung)

A certified Deckbescheinigung can only be issued for breedings that took place in Germany. The original stud certificate(Deckschein) must be submitted. Copies, even notarized copies, of any kind cannot be accepted. The stud dog must be registered with the SV and the owner, or signature authorized person, must have his/her main residence in Germany.

It is not a requirement that the dam is registered with the SV.

However, if the dam is registered with the SV, proper transfer of ownership for the dam must be provided. This is not necessary if proof of ownership was submitted previously for issuance of an AKC-Bescheinigung for the dam. The processing fee and postage are the same as for the issuance of an AKC-Bescheinigung (Export Certification).

Please submit documents to:

This is good information.
I have been going through this trying to get a female's paperwork completed and when you can't read German--it can be a mess.
Thank you SitasMom.

I sent a color copy to the AKC and when they were done with it, they sent it back so I would assume that a copy is just fine.

how about if I'm the only US owner...do I need the AKC document...do I just fill out the form and send it....as she won't be registered until the Bescheinigung comes back?????

I have a question in the same line as this topic.

I bought a dog from America and now I need to transfer of ownership. I send all the papers (original FCI-SV pedigree - certificate breeding - registration certificate). I thought that they would transfer the names on the FCI-SV pedigree. Now I found out that they don't do that. I don't want an AKC pedigree but it is still possible to get my original FCI-SV papers back???

Please an answer from somebody soon!

Thanks
Annemarie

not sure,
if you bought the dog and it has a list of different owners signed on the back, you will need to complete a list (with adderss, phone numbers and email) of all the different owners that live somewhere other than germany and submit it when you submit the papers.......

Supak, it SOUNDS like a big hassle, but it is really not. Once you move back to the US and wish to AKC reigster your dogs, it would seem that
since you ARE the original owners, you would not need the ownership transfer paper. Contact Sabine at the SV. She was always more than
helpful.
